Brentford - able to sell Watkins etc for shit loads and buy Ivan Toney for a huge sum, pushing for promotion
Coventry - Limited funds to pad out a league one squad, battling relegation.

We still have a low budget by championship standards, therefore it’s an important point to make when discussing us as a championship club

I don't want him sacked, but I do blame him for yesterday. The team selection, formation, and substitutions were wrong. That's Robins' fault.

Just because he has won promotion previously doesn't mean he should be exempt from criticism.

For the record I also agree that taking our chances is a massive problem. It has been for a few years, but now we are facing more challenging opposition.

ESB my old mucca! Personally I don’t think this season there’s too many times that we have been out of the games tactically or formation-ally. I know you like the aunt and uncle analogy but football is a game of fine margins, especially the further up the ladder you go.

We have conceded the most penalties in the league and hit the woodwork the most. Concede a few less penalties (whichI think most know is achievable) and take a few more chances and we’re 10 points + further up the table and comfortable. I think we are a few tweaks away from being a solid mid table team.

Barnsley have spent money, I bet their wage bill is higher than ours too. Plus they have players that are now experienced in this league after a season of struggle

Their record transfer fee is around the amount we paid for Hamer and you can bet all you like but it’s a third of Derby Birmingham and Huddersfield

In that case they are over achieving. They nearly went down last season so there’s no reason why we can’t improve next season either. I know you want Robins sacked but the majority have more faith in him that you do

Doesn’t mean every club has to follow the same path to improve. Robins has improved us year on year since he took charge

Well we have changed managers many times over the last 10 years.

Up to Robins results wise none of them because if they didn't leave they were sacked as they walked the SISU plank and had very little budget Robins in his first stint went early in his tenure to barnsley
This time he's stuck around built a backroom staff backed by joys purse in conjunction with boddy and upto this season it's been an upturn in results on the field.

It matters mate...it's why you'd never see a West brom win the Premier league .
You may get a 1 in 30 season anomaly like Leicester but that's as good as it gets with lower budgets

They changed managers and were still only saved from relegation by Wigan’s points deduction. Stop pretending that a change of manager is a cure-all solution.

Don't think anyone is suggesting that the league table is just an ordered list of how much each club has spent. But equally to say that clubs who have owners who are happy to write off losses of £15m a season in the Championship don't have an advantage over clubs who have owners like ours is ridiculous.

What people are really saying is the the owners should go back to Richardson's 'have a punt' business model and chuck huge amounts of money at the club in the hopes it leads us to the Premier League promised land. But what happens if that doesn't work? After all there's far more teams trying that than there is promotion places available.

Ultimately, wage spend has the biggest correlation to league position (study done a few years back, can’t be arsed to find it). We have a self-imposed wage budget, no shame in that. To finish higher we need to concentrate on generating higher revenues - hence the transfer model. That’s the long and short of it.

Every club is a selling club if the price is right no matter how big.
Just like buying a house if you really want it you’ll pay the asking price.

Erm, it means both teams have low budgets and both teams find themselves in a relegation battle?!
