Falkirk_fan - It's amazing how the smaller Scottish football survives - You have two teams - Yours and East Stirling and is not Stenhousemuir next door as well. Are they all fully professional? or part timers like Queens Park.

Queen's Park are fully amateur, the others are semi pro.

What are the expectations at Coventry just now? Are you wanting promotion or is stability the key just now? If Pressley goes down the route of youth down there you might have to put up with mid table for a few seasons while he builds, if he does it at Coventry like he did up here then i wouldnt expect promotion push right away although to be fair you might be strong enough at the moment to get promotion so i could be talking utter rubbish lol

Probably too inconsistent for promotion.win one lose one atm.
But never know. If Robins had not fecked off i am sure we would be top 6 now

Falkirk fwend, its hideous. For once Liam is right Scottish football is shite. It cracks me up when they read out the results for their lower leagues with attendences of about 200. Why bother, more spotlight should be put on our lower leagues.

Scottish football is very poorly supported and its the fans fault. This is a serious point.

Disagree. I think Scottish football is pretty good and I've been up there and seen a lot of it over the years. The attendances are lower because the population is lower. Also, there are two massive clubs which mop up the majority of support.

Before slagging it off you should go up there and see for yourself.

The attendances are dire even compared to population edinburgh must be about 500,000 hibs and hearts barely get 20,000 between then. Newcastle and Sunderland get nearly 50,000 each with cities of about 170,000.

Why would i want to go up there its a dump, the football is shite. There all too busy getting pissed and slagging off England. Your a closet jock i can tell. they always slag off England but are willing to take millions of pounds in hand outs.

Im all for Scottish independence, good riddance.

We are hardly a club to boast about attendances compared to potential fan base...

And as for independence I think you will find that the majority of oil fields are in Scottish waters

Another closet jock. You have the land mass there, why not make something of it instead of whining about the English all the time. Its about time the scottish made something of their country and about time they sorted the state of their football out. There was a statement on here posted from "Elvis" about Scottish football read it.

The problem for Scotts is they feel everyone owes them something. The English on the other hand are progressive and entrepreneurial.

The Scottish wouldn't know how to get the oil out thats the problem they would all be on the piss.

He's got Ross County playing some top stuff and they've adapted to SPL football very well indeed-I don't expect him to stay in Scotland beyond this season. Would've been interesting to see what he could've done here.

Scottish football used to produce excellent players and strong domestic and international teams-but these days are long gone. There's no questioning that it's in a very sorry state at the moment-and watching it quite a bit (live, not just on telly), it really is dire. It desperately needs a few people to throw some serious money at it.

Agree to an extent Torch but the likes of Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, and even Inverness aren't tiny towns with nobody living there. I think it's more a reflection of how little money there is in the Scottish game right now which makes on pitch quality especially poor-Deegan has become a lynch pin in the heart of the Hibs midfield, for instance.

When most of us were not even born. Scottish football is shite. They should merge the welsh, irish and scottish leagues. The winner should be allowed to play in the JPT as a treat.

Not many clubs can boast about being in the 4th tier of their countries league and still get attendances of 45k! Fans in Scotland are very passionate about the game but the league is in trouble hence the need to revise the league structure.

Why would the irish and welsh leagues want to merge with Scottish leagues, you don't see less popular leagues like Belgian, Ukraine, Romanian, malta even dutch leagues (bar two clubs maybe) to a certain extend are not huge, why don't they merge?? Because it is not needed.

We are lucky to have a well supported league system so comparing our league to Scotland isn't fair.

Number of things have gone against him especially no goalscorers. Also when we played Colchester Walsall Portsmouth and Hartlepool they were high on the form league. Also focus needed after the points deduction, all in all he's had a baptism of fire and came out ok.

I fear the length of contract is another SISU act of Spite while under threat ,much as David Bells was .
Done purely as a Barrier to Hostile Takeover ,of no benefit to or for the Club.

It's no worse than the football we played under robins....robins was a bit more direct but also had McGoldrick who was head and shoulders above anyone else in this league.

Pressley will need to make some major changes to the squad if he wants to play this style of football.

Falkirk have got a lot to thank Pressley for I think, financially were much better off than when he took over. If he adopts the same approach at Coventry than he did with us then things will probably go slow at 1st, he will probably have a 3 year plan to get Coventry to where they should be. Tactically im not convinced he is up to the job and my god I dont miss his repetitve interviews. (he could have just recorded one at the start of the season and played it after every game)

We have had a 73 year old in charge since Pressley left and the football has been so much better to watch, no more tippy tappy boring crap from the Falkirk players.

Hows the football been?

Some encouraging signs so far, along with a few less encouraging ones.

I think he's doing fine, but it's impossible to make a judgement yet, especially with the situation he's been dropped into.
