Home against Harrogate Town they’d be 5,000 there

Why isn’t it allowed? I know the police capped Birmingham following the antics vs Derby, but surely away allocations aren’t going to be permanently restricted?

Leeds, West Ham, Baggies etc have all brought 6k+ in the past.

You could charge £5 and we wouldn't get 20k.

May as well go round schools next week and give kids a free Christmas presents.

Think you’re being a big pessimistic there

No team has ever brought over 6K.

Really? Can't see many season tickets wanting to go to this with the additional charge after Christmas. Looking at the response on here and social media, nobody is interested.

I'd sooner go and watch this game than a home game against Boreham Wood or Maidenhead (I was at both, and it was like watching a friendly)Reasonable crowd (think they'll bring a lot again) plus opportunity to progress.

I'd imagine both teams will play weakened sides.

They didn't, it was 5800. We've never allocated a team over 6000 tickets. Fans of some clubs have claimed they have brought that many, but they haven't really. Not that it matters though.

Will some of their players have been sold by then? People say 'shit tie' but it's a lot better than a M'Boro or some other cold Northern outpost away.

Didn’t West Brom in one of their promotion seasons about 10-15 years ago? Think they requested 9k but it was turned down

I'm pretty sure West Brom have brought the biggest following to the Ricoh, but thought it was the FA Cup tie, but it might have been the season you mention thinking about it.

Always seems colder up North in January - shivering next to the radiator just thinking about anywhere north of Sheffield.

A day of youth and squad players on both sides a yawn of a game.

A lot of potential money for progression - Derby can't afford to ignore that, and not sure we can.

West Ham had sold 6200 before the game. BBC report it as 6300.

there are no midweek fixtures in january so a free week either side means both sides should put out full side

FA impose a minimum ticket price although I am unsure on exact figure, it used to be £10 though.

A meh game in a reserve teams cup competition (until the later stages that is when teams actually try a tiny bit) - nowhere near as prestigious as it used to be…especially for Prem teams who value finishing 7th or whatever it is in an overrated league as more ideal

This was all debated at the time I recall, reports of West Ham having sold more tickets than they were actually allocated and CCFC announced a different figure. I could well be wrong though, wouldnt be the 1st time.

We might field a weaker team, I doubt it would be significantly so. And can Derby afford to be blasé about a win that could give them £82,000? No. Not at all.

This is Chelsea, they were allocated 5200 which was widely reported. West Ham only had the few seats empty in this image for segregation extra, but it's no more than 500-600 max.

I think that rule was removed when the minimum price was brought in?
Now down to home team to set it I think? Believe some clubs weren't happy about their fans being fleeced by the bigger clubs as a result & subsidised them.
