How's he got away with that? It was only going away from goal because he punched it away

Wenger did so much good for English football but I'm fairly sure he started the antipathy towards cup competitions we see today.

Of course there are other factors but if I remember correctly that was the beginning of the decline.

Surely it was Man Utd pulling out in 1999 to play in the Club World Cup!

Direction this, unfair that, he’s handballed out of his box.

I'd be livid about that if I was a Man City fan.

So he got away with it because Haaland was going wide? Surely it was only going away from the goal because that's where Henderson knocked it, no?

That came later. And definitely contributed.
But if you look into that I'm not sure the narrative they pulled out is correct.
Fairly sure they had pressure put on them to play in order to support the world cup bid.
Ferguson didn't want to do it.

They've bottled it because they don't want to ruin the game (and it probably would have).

Two years on the trot and Var strikes Cos it doesn't suit the narrative!

Don’t want it to ruin the game. Rescind Dasilva’s red then if it’s that simple.

Meant he wouldn’t get a red card for being last defender denying a goal scoring opportunity. Was still a handball so should have been a free kick from an eminently scorable position.

Why is VAR taking so long. Saw from the replay about 30 seconds ago that it's a penalty.

We've already had nearly everything you want to see in a cup final as a neutral.

No they didn’t. They showed a replay which they thought might show that but actually showed the fouled player just touching the ball on a fraction as the foul tackle came in. Sorry, I’m watching BBC.

After what I've been watching over the last few months I'm genuinely in awe of the ball going up to the big Palace striker and him getting it under control.

Surely that push needs to be a yellow card.

Refs are shit even in showpiece matches.
