I used to go to school with a kid called Dean Henderson - Whitley Abbey Comp 1977-1982.
I think he left around 1978 (family emigrated?)
Keeping up the tradition of being away from the area.

Var saying they didn't send him off because it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity.

It wasn't because Henderson punched the fucker away.

Yet dasilva was miles further out and had a keeper to beat.
It was a possible goalscoring opportunity but not necessarily an OBVIOUS goalscoring opportunity or an obvious error due to the direction of play & the presence of a defender etc.

It probably should have been a red card but once it's not given on field it won't get overturned.

Baffling that Lineker doesn't know the laws of the game given how long he's been involved.

Just endless, endless, endless moaning about referees and VAR and referees and VAR. Do people even talk about football anymore?

The "Denying an Obvious Goal-Scoring Opportunity" (DOGSO) law in football, also known as the Professional Foul Law, was introduced in 1990...

For Lineker to say he had never heard the "Obvious" part before is embarrassing frankly.
