Surely if you were to go through every religious book from thousands of years ago you would find caveman, warped shit like that?

You could say the same for the Old Testament. It's a manipulation used to target the vulnerable.

The same Saudis who are contributing the US-led war against ISIS?

That's a bigger piece of guff than "Saudi Arabia is to blame for Bin Laden and al Qaeda" - err, Bin Laden was a Saudi and that was about it. It's like blaming the British government for the crimes of Jimmy Savile.

Anyway, I don't think Trump is in the wrong to use the words he did this morning, and nor is he wrong to agree to supply weaponry to the leading US ally in the region.

Absolutely. WTH have these kids done? They aren't the ones making policy, dropping bombs, voting for those that do. Sickening and my heart goes out to them and their families.

i have only read the Sikh holy book, its the youngest of the religions and as violent as it gets is stand up for injustice and the unfortunate. rest is mostly just focus on yourself and god will deal with others when its all said and done.

religious or atheist one common ground should be dont kill innocent people. you dont need scriptures for that. these guys just aint right, be it terrorists in name of religion or going around a primary school with a shotgun.

We are not taking though about Christianity here are we but about some believers of the Islamic faith who interpret the words of their holy book in a particular way.
From your earlier comment by saying these weren't yazidis in Manchester you indicate, by not condemning, that if they were yazidis that that would be ok...I'm sure that wasn't your intention.
Any talk that these aren't 'real' Muslims is both naive and arrogant. They may not have the same ideology as peaceful mainstream Muslims but they themselves see and believe that they are truly following the word of god. They want not just a Middle East caliphate but one that spreads around the world. They want a universal Muslim state that is based in and upholds sharia law. If states and moderate Muslims don't recognise that and work to re educate young extremists into a different vision of Islam the killing of non believers (including Sufi Muslims, Shia Muslims, as well as christians and yazidis and other non believers) will continue.

ceremonial daggers if you are baptised. to be baptised you have to be ultra strict sikh(no meat,no booze etc)

as far as i am aware never been used in an attack here in england. if it has i have never heard about it. majority who wear them are age 60 plus.

There is no guarantee whatsoever where those weapons end up once they arrive there.

Better idea - don't give them things to kill people with. At the very least it will reduce the availability of anyone getting their hands on them.

if you don't understand the link between the Saudis and ISIS then you really are naive.
So what if they are also contributing to the US lead war against them, that's one of the many crazy contradictions of the middle east situation.

You probably aren't aware that the US and UK were/are simultaneously fighting Al Quaeda in Iraq while arming them in Syia.

No I wasn't saying they were terrorists or anything, just about the violence thing.

I worked with a guy who had one, he would be in his 30's now and had his sword and a blade in his turban. They weren't toys for show either.

Do the one about how Israel secretly funds ISIS. Then tell us the one about how moon landings were faked by Elvis, Bigfoot, the CIA and Prince Phillip.

Not to be all positive discrimination and all that, but if I was to stereotype a demographic the Sikhs would be easily the nicest people. Where we used to go visit family in Scotland there is a large Sikh community and they're like the bedrock of the place.

You're right, it just seems to be a small minority taking these books seriously and using the violent words to justify being an animal (regardless of what religion) The rest of humanity has moved on.

he's comparing linking the Saudis with ISIS with big foot, I fear he can't be taught mate.

He seems totally unaware of the Sunni/Shia schism in the middle east and how we've been caught up in the proxy war between the 2.
But just in case, this might be a start:
The real reason Trump is in Saudi Arabia

It can't mate, not completely. I can become radicalised in my bedroom with a private VPN and never speak to anyone IRL about my thoughts. I can find the makings of explosives in household goods, or steal a lorry and drive onto the pavement. Even under a police state with armed checkpoints you still get terrorist attacks.

But they are just noisy and scary, they aren't a serious threat to our lives in general or our way of life generally. Just shit eating flies bothering the elephant of liberal democracy. You are still, even with this atrocity, more likely to die in a car crash or train derailment than going about your business at a concert or market and you wouldn't even think about letting that fact stop you driving or travelling by train.

They are sad, worthless pieces of shit desperate for some relevance in a world that's fast leaving them behind. We have the best armed and security services around IMO and we have been excellent at stopping them so far and driving them back where they originate. Any long term solution will be slow and multi-faceted, until then we just have to keep calm and carry on.

Err, no need for name-calling on a thread like this. I suggest you give up the conspiracy theories and wake up - Saudi is a key strategic ally and international partner, including in the fight against ISIS. It's not wrong for their country, ours and the US to work together in supplying weaponry and combating ISIS.

Not really. I don't think in the uk you'd get extremely baptists blowing up Manchester.

Things can be done. Target people looking at sites for radicalisation, arrest people without trial who are suspects, deport known hate preachers, re-introduce the death penalty for any organisers of such activity.

I'm not saying I advocate these things but they can be done.

The fact we allowed for years a hate preacher like Abu Hamsa to peddle his filth shows we are a soft touch.

1 in 8 people in Manchester are Muslims. With a population around 550,000, that's a lot of potential terrorists.
And the population of Greater Manchester is 5 times bigger.
It only takes a small percentage to be radicalised and you have a major problem.
What we are seeing is the downside to diversity and multi-culturalism; people living alongside us that have totally different values and culture.

It's everything to do with Islam. It's a religion whose aim is world domination. Have you read the Koran? It's all spelled out in there.
Adherents are duty-bound to kill all non-believers.
These acts are being carried out in the name of Allah and Islam. How can you say its nothing to do with religion?
