I think people are getting hung up on what the clubs want in competition terms, what they really want is access to as much £ as they can possibly get

Agree, in fact these changes have been touted for perhaps longer than the heavy American influence at the top of the PL.

From what I understood watching sky sports, the German and Franch clubs so far have declined to enter.
Never thought I'd agree with gary neville but fair play to him, he admitted he made money through it and doesn't have a problem with money in the sport, but that this is too far.

I think the idea was that this would be midweek and replace the CL, not domestic, but with 15 'core' teams and then 5 invited on merit each season.

Well done on UEFA and FIFA going over the top at this, I hope they continue and sort out the problems at the top, though doubt it.

Worst thing is given that they’re throwing teams out - Are Leicester on course for the double by default?

Leicester only won the league due to millions of £ pumped in by a Thai fella who ran casinos, it's about as much of a fairytale as Silence of the Lambs.

I dislike Leicester as much as the next Cov fan but to win the PL is respectable. Of course they couldn't have done it without millions being invested but they never did a Chelsea or Man City.

If we ever want to get to the PL we will have to do the same.

Look at Everton and how much they have spent. What Leicester did is nothing short if a miracle. Everything that could have gone in their favour, did go for them.

That's why I hope these clubs do go forward with this, kick them out of the league. Hopefully it will be like pressing the reset button.

Will those 6 clubs leaving have any impact on my enjoyment in football? Not one bit.

The last time any of those clubs were remotely interesting were back in the early 00's with Keane vs Vieira.

I say let them fuck off. Football is rocking up in the freezing cold at Accrington Stanley on an away day in mid November, queuing for a balti pie and a carling with salt of the earth working class geezers. Not scallop en croute with a pinot grigio in the bellend suite of some sponsored corporate fuckwagon, chinking glasses with Herbert fucking spendsalot.

Fuck them, kick them out of the Premier League and all domestic competitions. It’s all about money not sporting integrity.

Wonder how the fans of the clubs feel about this.

Disgusting and I hope people don't allow this to happen

Let them go off to their silly league, when they come back on the weekend after the game make them play Friday nights and Saturday mornings to mean they don’t get the rest they want and make everything awkward for them.

Sone of the team have no place in the top twelve clubs and will soon get fed up of ending up bottom every season.

This board has a strong feel of King Canute's courtiers. May not come this time, but it is surely the logical end game of where the sport is right now. Too many games across Europe have little meaning. The world is getting smaller.

I feel for the genuine fans of the clubs involved. Imagine being a STH at Man City for 40 years through all divisions and now you're about to end up in an uncompetitive league chucking away everything you've been through just to further enrich your owners.

I hope the PL/FA/UEFA stick to their guns and kick them out, if FIFA stoop them playing in world cups it could really destabilise them too. I hope it hurts them.

I almost have no significant feeling regarding this. Elite football is almost like a completely different sport to what we are used to. I’ll stick to our away games at Wycombe and Luton thanks.

Agree in theory but what about the genuine fans of those clubs? And even from a non 'elite' club point of view, it would damage the entire football pyramid financially.

German clubs are at least 51% fan owned and with all this dealing deliberately being done behind closed doors it would have been impossible for Bayern and Dortmund to commit to anything without going public with the plans. I think now this idea is public they will seek to get enough fans on board. Hopefully that's a non runner.

I did read PSG were interested but there would be spending limits that they didn't fancy adhering to so have decided against it for now.

Is this not just classic case of dick swinging brinkmanship by the big clubs? Feels to me like they are trying to put the jitters up UEFA who are due to announce restructures to the Champions league. All an attempt to secure a bigger percentage of revenue or some fail safe backdoor to the competition if they have a shite season.

Whatever it is It definitely stinks and is a dark day for football. Closed leagues can stay in American sport thank you very much.

Will this mean participating clubs not taking part in their domestic cups the league cup and FA cup or could it be they operate with basically two squads one for home competitions the other for super league. Big test for out FA this might depend how well their palms are greased as to what they do about it.
As a ccfc fan I don’t see what difference it really makes survival in the Premier League is about as good as it gets for any club below the “big” six

I want to hear the manager's opinion on this. Then again what's the point they're hardly going to disagree with their owners are they!

Disgrace of a decision. There's too much capital in football anyway!
