Seventeen sixes is something special.
They had videos of them all on ICC-Cricket.com

Best game if the competition so far!

Can't help thinking SA screwed up by leaving only their worst bowler to bowl the final over.
Should have kept one over in hand from one of their better bowlers.

There biggest problems are they have no bowling alternative to the five and they have a horribly long tail - the tail was always on their minds I think

I’ve seen New Zealand twice now and they make heavy weather chasing not very high totals - they’ll get to the semis but they seem not up there with the other big 3. To be fair they haven’t had a lot of batting recently

If Australia beat Bangladesh tomorrow the 4 will be pretty much vying for positions

We managed to get two tickets for the final earlier. Trying to get tickets for the India game now. Last night's attempt to buy on the black market didn't go well!

Seem determined to throw this one away don't we.

When you need less than a run a ball and you have 5 wickets in hand, you should be winning the game quite easily.

School boy stuff, miracle needed now. Need stokes to start smashing and wood to defend out. Plenty of balls to play just running out of batsman!

Piss poor batting performance today. Only Root and Stokes showed up.

Suddenly a semi final place doesn't look the certainty it was supposed to be with Australia, India and New Zealand to come.

We have to win one game and if we can’t win one against those 3 then we don’t deserve it anyway

That’s Sri Lanka and Pakistan we’ve put in below par performances now. Can’t keep doing that at a World Cup.

We may as well come up against the good teams now because we'll only have to meet them later anyway.
Have always felt that England would fold when it mattered.
Hope they can prove me wrong.

Not sure myself, Sri Lanka have 2 winnable games and they can cause us problems. We have 3 very hard games!

Our run rate is superior

Was it down to complacency? Low total to get, we've been getting high scores for quite a while. It's the problem with having that kind of batting line-up - it's very explosive and when it works it works unbelievably. But when it doesn't there's not really anyone other than Root to provide a solid base. It's either smack it around the park or back in the pavilion after a few balls.

With so many players like that we can afford for one or two to have an off day, but if we've got a pitch that isn't suited to it it can come unstuck. Bizarrely we would seem to want the other team to be able to bat well and post a decent score because it means the pitch is good and we've got to back ourselves to beat it given the line-up we've got.

Headingley is a slower pitch which played to Sri Lanka spin and we didn’t adapt quick enough. There was arrogance there in that we tried to smash it when we didn’t need too, Ali was a great example of that where he hit a great 6 and then went for another and was caught, he just didn’t need to play that shot. Not the end of the world but we have given ourselves an up hill task

NZ - WIndies good game.
Typical WIndies - some brilliant individual stuff surrounded by mediocrity.
300 should be a good score - not these 350+ games.
India just showed that bit of extra class in the quick bowling dept vs. Afghanistan.

Pakistan are now an outside bet to qualify. They have fine players but seem so erratic - I can’t though believe New Zealand can keep getting off the canvas every game and scrape through and then they have the Afghans and Bangladesh

totally, they blow so hot and cold each game. They would be a force if they could string those results together!

Looks like some of those one pointers due to rained off games could come back to bite England.

England dragged it back from the brink - Australia looked in for 330 but somehow we dominated the last 15 overs and took wickets at key times

The England innings will be s significant indicator for our chances to win
