Big fall out with Robin's pre-match apparently. Simms not happy after his comments in the Telegraph calling him lazy and criticising his work rate. Chaos

Heard he looked around West Orchards and thought it wasn't a patch on the Galleries in Washington so wants to force a move back to Sunderland.

ELLIS SIMMS TO BE TOP GOALSCORER is the first pick.

Coventry signed the frontman for £8m from Everton, which looks like a snip to me.

Simms scored seven times on loan at Sunderland last season from an xG of 4.9, generating a goals per 90 average of 0.55, underpinning his clinical nature and consistency. The Black Cats' autumnal dip in form coincided with his and strike partner Ross Stewart's injuries. Simms has also bagged north of the border, scoring seven in 21 appearances for Hearts.

Filling the void left by a certain Swede could burden the youngster but if he can cope with that psychological pressure, there is a lot to get excited about.

Victor Gyokeres’ 21 goals was the second highest tally in the division last season but those goals equated to 36% of the Sky Blues' 58 goals. Gus Hamer was the side's second-highest scorer with 11.

Mark Robins gears up his side to create chances for their spearhead and Simms has already proved he can put them away. So, barring injury, he should get a hatful next campaign.

He reminded me of Vik in his first season with us , some poor touches and decisions but you can see his huge potential

If he keeps his head up and ignores some of our more moronic fans, I reckon he’ll be just fine. Think Simms/Wright partnership could be a real handful. My bigger worry is with Palmer (who had a good game until he tired) just behind a front two we can get overrun in midfield sometimes

I think it won't be as bad as it was today against the lesser sides , you could see Leicester's premiership experience first half

He does look wank though. Biamou had a better first touch and passing ability.

He will improve I'm sure, but he had a very poor game today.
I'm not sure Godden is the ideal partner either, as we lacked a bit of pace and mobility up front.
Having said that we still created enough opportunities to win the game.

I think Simms was shite today. But thats off the back of one game. Clearly has something about him but he couldn't make a successful lay off, and what the fuck was that attempt at the start of the second half? Had the freedom of Leicester to take 79 touches and roll it in but twats it for almost a throw in???

I certainly havent written him off, he will be a good signing, but also cannot defend the fact he was pony today

He clearly has all the attributes needed to be a good striker in this division - strong, mobile and hard working. His finishing today was poor but he stretched their defence time and time again, I’m a lot more confident having seen him play this afternoon. Him and Wright together are going to overwhelm defences.

Well the shot I guess is going to be remembered today but he won the corner a minute after, firced a good save and in the first half helped to create good chances

Actually looks a bit quicker than I thought

I do suspect done fans will take more convincing than others

Hopefully he's better suited playing off the shoulder of a big striker like Wright.
We certainly need to find a way to play to his strengths as we need more from him than we got today.

Boozer I was in was full pelters when something he did didn’t work. And silence when something did work.

What more do you need from him? He fashioned a couple of very good chances and held up the ball for others. Finishing was poor as I said, but I doubt that will last.

If anything it looks like Wright will be the guy to play off the shoulder, given his pace - Simms has the ability to occupy defenders and score goals himself.

100%. Seems like the plan is Simms furthest forward bringing others into the game with Wright dropping wide or deeper to pick up the ball and run with it.
