The deal surely is to provide X number of games a season and from what I see they will be getting them and more unless it's in the contract on a certain day their problem is not "paused contracts".

Haha whenever I browse their forum (which isn’t very often) I notice Astute posts more than most Sunderland fans! Probably furloughed so really bored!

I think the TV deal itself is worth about £2.4 million in the Championship and £750k in League 1 plus if your on live you get extra Leeds were on about 13 times if at home about £100,000 plus or £10,000 for away games.Don't know about the PL offer

There was 7 weeks left in the Championship so they've only really 'lost' 2 months subscription but equally there wouldn't normally be EFL games in June and July so they've gained 2 months there. They've also gained 10 extra live games.

That all seems to pretty much even out to me so not sure why clubs have to pay millions back.

Well now that this news is out in the open, just goes to show that playing on in the PL has nothing to do with giving the public a lift.

Anyone notice Sky's press release says they're showing all 15 play off games across the 3 EFL divisions. Doesn't that imply Tranmere's proposal of extra play off games isn't happening?

Are you sure it's not all 15 play off games in league 1?

I haven't seen the contract but it must mean that dates were nominated for the period of the agreement
Otherwise there would be nothing owed by the PL or Championship
I think we all know the hard faced buggers who run some of the biggest clubs wouldn't pay back a cent unless they had to

Could be due to the fact that the match day squad will be bigger when the championship resumes with 5 subs allowed and bigger numbers on bench... has obviously played his way into the reckoning of the manager.
Thinking outside the box, depending on the wage agreement between the clubs, he may well have "gone back" as soon as furlough was announced so BC could pay his wages which would have also lessened the burden on CCFC.
If he is in their squads in the next few weeks, we'll probably know we won't see him with us next year.

The return to BC for wages purposes could be a good point. And to follow on with your thinking outside the box, it may well be Robins has pretty much accepted that League 1 isn't restarting so has let Walshy go back to get more game time in at a more challenging level. And, here's where I'm hoping, with a view to putting in an approach after the Championship season is done.

Getting more money is of course great but it goes very quickly. Championship wages also go up at a huge rate as well.

Isn’t there talk of a wage cap in the championship there are plenty of clubs in there pleading poverty due to coronavirus yet paying huge wages don’t think they will be allowed to have it both ways.

serious conversations about a 15-20m cap but with the extended season etc. unlikely to be in for next season.
But it's coming you've got Championship clubs with huge debt levels but also wage bills in excess of 80% of income ( couple over 100%) for all the talk of FFP etc.Average wages creeping towards 25k per week.

Has to happen, footie finance especially below the Premiership is going to be hit and hit hard and no good running to the government for help either. Our position could be fairly positive no ball and chains round our ankles wage wise. There are clubs Hull, Huddersfield as examples crapping the threat of dropping into division one cuts their income by millions and then there’s no spectators until whenever to boot.

I think we know, but not officially. The more I read snippets from the likes of Barry Fry the original ppg ideas will happen. Lucky Wycombe.

Who do you want to win the play offs ?
Pompey who, due to poor owners, found themselves in the leagues lower depths and had to be rescued by fans and is now in fan ownership ? Wycombe or Fleetwood who are minnows performing well above their weight or Oxford, a footballing team and another local derby for us ?

As a club Portsmouth, like us been through the mill the last few years and fighting back, good loyal fans in the main too, but I have a hunch for Fleetwood, they have that much needed fighting edge to their game, love him or hate him their manager.

Wycombe.
Just to annoy the likes of Peterborough who have painted them as the villains.

Also, can you imagine their style in the Championship? Would throw up some interesting encounters!
I think they'd likely fill one of the relegation spots too, making our lives a tiny bit easier.

Id like Oxford.

1 as they are just up the A34 from me so would be a game I could get too easily.
2 One of the better teams we have played in the league. generally played nice football and had been doing well in the run in.

Our home game with them would have been a cracker.

Not Fleetwood as I don't want to here Captain pug wash when they score ever again

He will not be able to play for BC for the remainder of "this season". Standard loan rules (he would have been able to play if he had returned to BC in January). However I am sure the rules will allow for a return to Cov in the extremely unlikely event that our season gets back underway.

Yup. Basically this seasons playing budget is more than covered. It just depends (1) what contractual obligations we have to pay for players with promotion clauses and (2) how much additional money SISU are prepared to pump in to let MR have a go.

On the other hand if other Championship clubs are struggling then this certainly doesn't hurt us...

Fleetwood have spent to get where they are. I'd want Oxford as much as I think Robinson is a dick, every fan of theirs I spoke to in checkatrade final day was sound. For that reason I back them

Pompey Trust sold to Americans about 3 years. They've pumped in a load of money. 2nd biggest wage budget in division.
Wycombe another club where fan trust sold their control to americans
