How did this just happen?
Clubs are still testing as they deem it a responsible thing to do in terms of player welfare. The EFL have only said it is no longer mandatory.

If a club on the day of the game says they don't have enough players to fulfil the fixture due to covid the EFL can't really force them to play.

I see, so completely pointless then.

That postponement shows how ludicrous that EFL decision is in the first place. The equivalent of saying you don’t need to take a Covid test on your birthday, because it’d be a shame to cancel your party if you’re positive.
