The problem is that the centre is fekked. If it became a straight shoot out between the extremes and that meant Farage and that nutcase, I dont think you'd like the result. If you’re not a pussy marching vegan, I simply dont see the appeal.

I've just been reading about that weirdo who has been drugging and raping his wife over a long period and allowing other men to rape her too. 60+ offences, absolute scumbag and deserves whatever comes his way.
But ... this is where I get annoyed with politicising everything and I'd say the same whatever the side of politics he was. When I was growing up, I always had the tabloids were the gossips and the broadsheets whilst slightly left or right leaning, reported facts and were trusted sources.
The list of headlines had a number saying 'Husband and five other men charged with sex offences against ex-wife' until I get to the Guardian 'Former Tory Councillor in court accused of drugging and raping ex-wife'.
It's sensationalist trash to do nothing more than smear rather than report. They should be better than that. I'm not disputing he was a Tory Councillor either, just that it bears no weight on the horrific crime itself.

People don’t really think Farage is ‘the answer’, this is a line you keep parroting without really interrogating.
Zach Polanski’s Greens are experiencing a bump in the polls for the exact same reason as Farage and Reform. They are both filling a vacuum vacated by the Tories and Labour.
Immigration and the cost of living are number one and two issues reported in the polls so is it surprise parties focusing on immigration and economic populism (such as wealth taxes) are polling well?
Labour are following a wider trend of traditional centre-left parties across Europe; they’ve become gentrified and no longer understand the working class and how to raise their living standards. These last 2 Labour budgets demonstrate this very clearly.

That is because they are massively overrepresented in certain crime statistics. There is a difference between not reporting that and sweeping it under the carpet versus naming the political leanings of a criminal in a case that has nothing to do with politics.

There needs to be a third "viable" option Pete, im not saying reform are the answer, but the answer sure as hell ain't another Labour or Tory government.
If reform do get in at the next election, it will be because the other parties have lost the trust of the people. Thats a damming indictment of modern day politicians.

If you look at the direction of travel for politics in most English-speaking and European countries, not to mention the strong anti-incumbent feeling worldwide then I struggle to see how this would actually happen.

Would need to be a centre left party that head on tackles immigration. It might be arguable whether it should be, but I think it's the number one priority for a lot of voters. Anyone who looks like being interested is labelled racist and that solves nothing. Lots of the working population see themselves as working hard, not being rewarded, costs rising and put the blame on immigration. I think we know that's not all of the reason, but it's an easy soundbite and is a factor. Until we have sensible open conversation about it, mainstream politics is finished.

You can measure how Labour’s anti-business policies have backfired on ‘working people’… private sector redundancies and unemployment is increasing.
Likewise, tax rises and inflation directly impact the money in people’s pockets and their spending power. Again, things get worse.
