I almost feel sorry for her. The desperation for acceptance is pitiful. Your heritage is your heritage, embrace it, be proud of it. Doesn’t make you any less British in the majority of people’s eyes. The only people praising her for this won’t be the type of people who will ever truly except her. Why she feels to pander to them is beyond me.

Tories who aren’t white heterosexual men have to be further right wing than normal to be tolerated by the party.

Must admit this is the first time in a while that I've even remembered that Badenoch exists, the Tories really have totally fucked it.

'Truthhurts101UK'

Orwell would be proud! Might have got annoyed at the 'UK' part next to St. George's cross, though.

Not sure what the great uproar is?

I know people want us to to genocide the migrants the second they step foot on shore. But the people who haven’t had their brain cooked by Twitter surely understand they’ve got to be somewhere. And no one said they wouldn’t be in hotels now, just that they’re reducing hotel use.

Just snowflakes looking for things to be offended about innit?

Maybe we could spend a lot more money on getting claims processed so hotels wouldn't need to be used for this purpose while also working more closely with the EU and especially the French in processing people in mainland Europe.

Glad to see you’re taking this seriously.

You’d kill asylum seekers on sight then? I take it that’s your position?

Tell us what you’d do then considering that’s not a serious answer. Asylum seeker arrives. What’s next?

You’ve painted yourself into a corner where you support murdering innocent people because you won’t just say what you mean which is that you were stupid for voting Brexit and swapping Romanians for Nigerians and Indians. So now you’ve got to focus on the 1% with extreme “solutions” because otherwise you’d have to admit your politics made the issues a hundred times worse.

You have just fabricated a whole post with things you have made up

Changing "house them with people who protest to welcome them" to "kill them on sight" is a good jump even for you.

If you don’t house them you are killing them. Either by leaving them in the ocean or leaving them on the streets. Same as anyone else.

You’ve got yourself to a position where you don’t support housing asylum seekers because you are angry there’s lots of brown people in the country.

There are lots more brown people in the country for two reasons: Johnson’s Afghanistan immigration deal and Sunaks increase in Indians and Nigerians to counterbalance the lost immigration from Europe after Brexit.

As we’ve said before we are creating fewer people so you have three options: more tax, less spending on the elderly, or import people.

It's a good jump to get between the 2. It's up there with the best.

Don't look in player ratings threads, you might read "had a shit game" as "get their kids taken off them and rip their nails off with pliers".

You need to work on your mind reading skills as well.

This is surely the answer.

Upon arrival place them somewhere secure, not saying a prison or anything like that, somewhere decent but designed for the purpose and secure. Then get the applications processed quickly and efficiently. Days or weeks rather than months or years.

Then if something flags up in their background and their application is rejected get them removed.

If people want to have a serious conversation about if we should take refugees / asylum seekers and / or we should cap the numbers then lets have an open discussion about that.

I really don't like how so many hotels have been shut down and used as holding pens. It's bad for local economies and is clearly causing issues with anti-social behaviour. Likewise my perception, though I'm not sure how true it is, is that the French can't be arsed to stop the boats leaving shore in the first place. They see that our politicians are getting most of the flak for the issue and seem happy to let it continue.

The focus has to be on processing claims as quickly as we can, and if that means hiring a load more people for a while to work through the back log, so be it. Likewise we need to engage in serious diplomacy, primarily with France but also the EU as a whole, to create places that could be jointly staffed in France and elsewhere so nobody needs to attempt crossing the Channel.

What about the old army camps and stuff like that? I know people moan it will cost money to do them up but surely cheaper then hotels or in residential streets.

It would be cheaper to hire the people than pay for hotels surely?

It's a good money maker for some people though to have to house and treat so many people.

I presume it would be cheaper yes. The whole use of hotels for this reflects really badly on the government but as you say, I imagine the hotel owners are only too happy to profit from the situation.

There's very little incentive for the French to do anything now we've left the EU and the Dublin Procedure no longer applies.

This is an area that seems to get no focus. The system was allowed to go to shit while at the same time handing huge sums of money over to certain individuals to 'assist' with the issue.

At the same time the owners of those hotel chains while taking huge amounts of money are letting the hotels fall into ruin.

No doubt if and when this actually gets stopped they will just ride off with the money and leave someone else to clear up the mess.

Given that the practice started under the Tories who also dished out big contracts to their mates during the pandemic, it's possible. Needs to be proven though.

Our local hotel in Warwick has a contract with the home office apparently, where the home office will pay for the refurbishment of the hotel once the migrants are re-housed.
The hotel chains can't lose.

Although the talk at the moment is that the home office will buy some of the hotels and turn them into "asylum centres" so they then stop being hotels, and the government can say we're not using the hotels anymore, we've created new "asylum processing centres"

Exactly what I was about to post. It's this single fact that irritates me more than any other. No problem in anyone wanting a better life, we won the lottery being born here, but why always single males? If my family was at risk I'd die helping them get the fk away not leave them and say I'll send for you when I'm settled.
