Lembik Opik ? -hes a biker and came to our club and gave a talk on MAG - someone ( in jest) asked him which of the cheeky girls he preferred - he said he was never sure which one was whichdon't forget the idiot policeman and the fella who was with one of the Cheeky girls too![]()
The left was already split courtesy of the Lib Dems. The interesting thing now seems that the right which was largely united behind the Tories has now been split by Farage UK
I’m certain the Lib Dems exchanged backing the tuition fee increases in exchange for the AV referendum. I may off the mark because this purely ‘off the top of my head recall’.
If I’ve recalled correctly, what a calamitous decision from a ‘grown up’ like Nick Clegg.
Is it nimbyism? As far as I'm aware they've always been firmly against nuclear in favour of renewables

The current offering perhaps not so (although I'm not sure what they are tbh as they're certainly not right either), but their roots from being Liberal merging with the SDP are left.Lib Dem’s aren’t left.

Nuclear is clean green safe energy...
Is it? Folks that got irradiated after different disasters might disagree. I'd rather we didn't have it. Having concerns about nuclear being called NIMBYism is a bit weird, fella.
Good job we're excellent at maintaining our infrastructure then!Chernobyl where an outdated and unsafe tech was run into the ground by an authoritarian regime
Nuclear wouldn’t be the long term fix, but it would give countries enough time to find that fix while not burning fossil fuels. The time for it was when the French got underway with it, and iirc they’ve had zero disasters to speak of.Is it? Folks that got irradiated after different disasters might disagree. Oh dear.
That isn’t actually what history shows at all. Likewise with the Democrats and Republicans in the US.Can hardly be a surprise. History tells us Labour overspend, The Conservatives clear it up and get blamed for needless austerity. Rinse and repeat.

If you believe these figures it does.
He certainly seems to have no bias!
Oh dear.
A government budget surplus is a terrible idea and each surplus is always necessarily followed by large deficits
It's borrowing and this will simply lead to more devaluation of the pound, ho hum.I’ve got no issue with the additional investment/spending, we need it, let’s just hope the extra cash is spent wisely. Unfortunately I don’t have much faith in governments of any political persuasion doing so…only time will tell though. What I find bizarre is the continuing cries of austerity and push back on any, even minor, attempt to control spending and/or make sure cash is spent as effectively as possible.
The fact is though unless rates/yields drop significantly we and many other countries are going to struggle as debt servicing costs will continue to dwarf many other elements of government expenditure.
