He was a bit before my time but being a watcher of cricket in the mid to late eighties I saw a lot of the highlights of earlier tests during rain delays on bbc2?

There was an hilarious moment once when he went out to bat got to the wicket and - he had forgot his bat!

Especially when he ran across the broken glass in bare feet.

I met him a couple of times at charity events and he was a lovely bloke.
Vividly remember the Ashes from 81 and in particular the Headingley Test.
RIP Bob.

Really liked Saunders...even though he was villa’s manager. No nonsense, a bit dour but produced successful teams.

Drugs and guns found on Juice Wrld's jet

Very odd circumstances with the Police waiting for the private jet...

My Dad (r.i.p) always said - "Son - there's no fun in getting old"

Seeing names/stars from your teens passing brings it all ever closer to home doesn't it? None of us is invincible. And having said that I feel like a 30yr old and am happy with my lot despite the turmoil life presents. Wonder how many don't wake the morning after saying that?

My dear old mam, bless her, used to get the Telegraph delivered and turn straight to the obituary column to see who she'd outlived! I find myself doing that nowadays! :nailbiting:

The saddest obituary I ever read said something like:
"Jim Smith has died, will anyone who knew anything about him please contact us?"

I went to an elderly customers funeral a few years ago. Me and my sister knew her from when we were kids. She was 92 so had a good innings but we decided we'd go. The funeral was attended by us two, an elderly bloke, and the vicar. She'd outlived all her friends and family. But it did feel a bit weird to be honest.

Not quite as bad as 'Jim Smith died. His funeral was yesterday. No-one showed.'

Cheers M. Although this one isn't my work, I did a similar one last year. They take some time but they are very effective.

Kenny Lynch, British singer, aged 81.
He had a beautiful voice and had a couple of top 10 hits in the early 1960's.

I remember him well. He was a good mate of Jimmy Tarbuck, if I recall.
