This is when it will show how much people follow our games.

2 best players today, not realising none were going to play for us unless it was an extreme emergency

Meyler and Wakefield in, Ogogo and Doyle out. Based on playing time I will gladly take this but I still think Ogogo will come back and bite us a little

Getting rid of two centre mids we owned and replacing them with one in on loan for 4 months is shite business. In the summer we’ll have three contracted centre mids, one whose very injury prone in Kelly, one whose played about 10 professional games in Westbrooke and one who will almost certainly not last the window in Bayliss. Unbelievable short-termism in a season where we’re very unlikely to go up or down.

Is it? 2 centre mids on a fair bit of money who were never going to play for us. It means we can recruit a new one in the summer or start planning like we have with the centre half.

Doesnt matter if we own them, if they arent going to play we still need to pay their wages. If they are replaced with somebody who will play (same with the Chelsea lad) it's better and gives us time to recruit.

We also get some bite in midfield

Maybe Doyle has been let go as this Bury lad is coming in. Has been playing defensive midfield for them recently.

A lot more activity than I expected on deadline day. Even the regulars won't know who half the players are on Saturday!!

Doyles contract would be up anyway and Ogogo has been rubbish. It's good business

It’s just more and more squad churn isn’t it? Giving players half a season to impress and then shipping them out. Ogogo was hardly given a chance and now in the summer we’re going to have to go out and sign another player just like him. Settled squads are the way to go, but we changed 3/4ths of our starting XI every summer.

Ogogo wasn't going to play for us. he was on a decent wedge as well.

To get rid of players who aren't going to play but still get paid and bring in players who will come in and start for us is good business. Ogogo would have sat on the bench at the very most in an emergency until the summer and Doyle was out of contract.

Should we just pay them silly money to turn up at Ryton and go home every day?

Turning into quite an eventful day. Wasn't expecting this much business. Early instincts say so far it's been a decent bit of business.

Ogogo was probably one of the highest earners as was Doyle, we cannot carry player who might play for some games. Mayler wants out so why risk a similar scenario to Ogogo and sign permanently when we can test whether he fits with a view in the summer then no change and settled midfield

Or Reading are waiting to see what League they are in.

Although it would be strange if the suddenly want him and McNulty back after bombing them off.

Ah didn’t have a clue who he was but assumed it was to fill their striker issue given the recent tragedy
