Sounds like an interesting read from what I have heard on CWR. Anyone know if it will be on sale in the CCFC shop or just from normal bookshops?
He was banging on about that in his CCFPA interview podcast. He came across quite well until he went all Matt Le Tissier at the end. When he was doing the Lounges tour the other week he was keen to point out the book was in large part his recovery from illness- which he blames on the Covid jab![]()
Never meet your heroes!! You'll usually be disappointed. Was put off by him at a legends night at the Jag club a few years back, his language and attitude was awful.
Funnily enough I got a photo with him when I was a kid during an open day at Ryton in 1987 and got my photo with him, Oggy, Cyrille and Killer he was brilliantNever meet your heroes!! You'll usually be disappointed.

except when he gave the middle finger to the west terrace perhaps... that was near the end to be fair, but still!Speedie was my ultimate Cov hero. Absolutely superb attitude on pitch and scored some fabulous headers and chipped goals.
Sadly about 4-5 years ago when CWR interviewed him live before game up in Blackburn he randomly started slagging off women's football and women officials. Embarrassed himself and CWR had to cut interview short as he was ranting like a loony.
Yes I am one of those younger members - I like the sound of this Brian kilcline fella.I’ve got the book. Just reading it.
Settling a few scores against people who he perceived wronged him by skating them in this book.
Most interesting so far is the Gary Bennett story (Sunderland- where Bennett Sr grabbed Speedie round the throat)
Apparently Killer (Brian Kilcline to our younger members) wasn’t playing (injured? suspended?) and waited for Bennett in the tunnel and threatened to rip his head off.
His last minute chipped winner away at Norwich was sublime, it’s the last time I remember beating them as well.Speedie was my ultimate Cov hero. Absolutely superb attitude on pitch and scored some fabulous headers and chipped goals.

Don't think so.Was that the match that Brian Gunn got sent off for them?
He got two hat-tricks that season and every goal was a headerHe scored a hatrick for us at home to Middlesbrough 1988 unfortunately we lost 4-3. Bernie Slaven getting 3 for them as well
That wasn't the infamous one where he threatened to bare his arse in one of the local shops was it?He scored a hatrick for us at home to Middlesbrough 1988 unfortunately we lost 4-3. Bernie Slaven getting 3 for them as well
He had to cover slow left backs like Kenny Sansom so seemed to forget how to beat his man and attackWhat happened to David Smith? He was such a tricky, skilful player when he broke through.
