Yea he looked very good on the FL show, shame he never showed it much last season. I don't want to question his commitment but was his heart really in it, considering the state the club was in and that he had already decided he was leaving?

Yep, I have a good mate who is Derby fan and he said he was different class today (after saying he was shite last week) apparently he was quick, cutting inside and looked a threat all day.

I posted before his attribute are championship and higher his final ball and decision making were in question,, better players, better coaching and in a team that are confident will allow Christie to progress quickly... Do not be shocked if they don't get promotion he finds his way on a premiership squad very soon...

Has always had a lot of potential. Had a bad 6 months after deciding he was leaving, but before that he looked very good.

Was at Derby in the opening day and he fitted in very well and think they'll be in the promotion mix.
Leon Best made quite a big impact when he came on too.

Fair play to them.

For our supporters it's more important to consider how nice a person is, rather than focus on ability. Just look at Baker & Thorny for example.

The fact that Baker is described on this forum as one of the best players in League 1 sums it up. Also it is a reminder that a fan owned ccfc would be a disaster. ;)

The ownership model you're describing (albeit partly in jest) is where one mad (or bonkers) person is in charge, i.e. the one we have now.

We used to rate him, then last season he went in a bit of a sulk; knew he was moving on on the summer and looked very disinterested.

He's now in a team challenging for promotion (they will be up there IMO) and winning games. Of course he's going to be happier and that will show in his performances

30/04/2005 we beat Derby 6-2 in the last game at Highfield Rd.
Both clubs moved stadiums and in my opinion were equal in size and support base.

Its a sad state of affairs when you now look at the difference in the two clubs. 3 ex cov players in their side and probably challenging for promotion from the Championship whilst we have declined to the stage where we lose top players to the likes of Bournemouth.

We seriously need owners who are prepared to invest in our club to get us back to where the City should be.
Unfortunately despite the great news this week lets not forget what SISU have done to this club

Where exactly should the club be? There is still a lot of arrogance amongst our support. We are not a big club and have no right to be in any league.

Also why should an individual/group invest their money to make fans happy? Do you mean via loans? Or just pouring money into the club with nothing in return.

Some never learn eh?

I think Coventry is still classed as a big club. Yes its in the lower leagues but its still a large club or should I say potential to be a large one. Coventry is a large city and has a big catchment area compared to a lot. Maybe its easier to see when living outside of Coventry how big the club is. Many people I know consider us punching way below where we should be. Out of interest, do people see a big club as a successful one? I see the two phrases entirely different although being successful does maximise the fan base. But I see Cov, Leicester, Birmingham, Derby all in similiar bracket in terms of "potential size"

You do realise Derby moved to pride park in 1997, not after they played us in 2005....

There's also Forest, wolves, middlesborough, Ipswich, Norwich, Blackburn, Watford, sheff wed, sheff united, Leeds, cardiff, Birmingham, Bolton, Fulham, all in the football league, all biggish clubs all with potential, history or recent successes. Based on attendances brighton should probably be added to that list.
