You need to look back at the late eighties, have a look at the average gates of even the top teams. Football was on its knees and one of the biggest contributing factors was the type of moronic behaviour lots of us witnessed yesterday. We were trying to leave after the game yesterday with my 6 year old granddaughter but couldn’t walk around the fence because of the morons on the hill. It’s nothing to do with the football and I would think that what they saw yesterday will make some people wonder do they want to come and watch again. We’ll be losing the decent fans but keeping the idiots.

If I was any fan involved in that trouble inside or outside the stadium I’d be very concerned there might be an early knock on the door one Sunday. I’ve seen various phone snippets on YouTube and anyone swinging a punch or seen throwing a bottle on camera is vulnerable. There was atleast one drone being used and those cctv cameras in the ground can pick out a pimple on your chin. I know a cop who goes through cctv for all sorts of incidents not just football and I know he and his department will trawl through the films and identify as many as possible. They will get nicked and a good chance of going down, authorities make examples to deter others. Remember the Portsmouth scrap at HR and the one at the Man City FA Cup tie most got jailed. Some one said the guy in the grey track suit got released, no he hasn’t, been in police custody to appear in court Monday, that doesn’t sound good for him in my opinion.

Lifetime ban for what? Where is your line on these issues, Pete?
Being within 20 yards of it kicking off? Loitering with intent? Swinging a punch and missing? Being punched?

People in town don't always get locked up for a scrap let alone banned forever more from the City centre.

As I said in my post above those organising the trouble or going armed and dangerous I want no where near me and my loved ones. A scrap between a few drunks that is a short ban maybe but for life feels a little totalitarian.

The police are paid to deal with this shit though and they failed to do anything until it was far too late.

You need to hammer him and rightly so

"A full investigation is under way in partnership with the club and those found to have taken part in the disorder face prosecution and a lifetime ban from matches."

Seems clear enough

You didn't answer his question and no it's not clear at all

It's the dibble trying to distract from their own failings.

Would you be ok with someone who is having a drink in th Cherry Tree and then has to defend themselves from being attacked getting a life ban?

Anyway banning orders mean fuck all, I know a couple of lads who went home and away when on a ban.

Does that seem clear? If the 'taking part' bit was clarified it would 100 % be clear.

Taking part could be as little as pushing someone over who confronted you and was about to punch your mate as you were making your way to car park A? That surely in your mind is not a lifetime ban. Strickly speaking that is taking part.

It needs dealing with but each case should be on its merits.

In terms of policing was Derby seen as a “high risk” game? With Blues and Stoke to come in next few weeks it’s worrying, these clubs carry around a reputation and would have seen yesterday

And I know a lad banned from football who was arrested and locked up to appear in court on the following Monday for being less than a mile from the ground when a game was on.

Cool story, what does that have to do with the fact that it is quite easy to go to the football when banned.

See this is where I’m always challenged on the effect and impact. I probably agree life time too much especially if it’s not able to be policed but no one would disagree with strong consequences for negatively affecting children in other contexts why not this? Loads of people pretty upset seeing fighting and blood and coins and bottles and worse being thrown

You sound you seem the aggro yesterday some indiscriminate as okay, just a one off. Football has lifted itself off the floor in recent years from the 70s/80s, were you around then ? Me and my grandson went to Blackburn and Preston last week was able to go to eating places with colours on safely in the old days any fan with colours was fair game for a knuckle sandwich or worse.

When was the last tie there was full on trouble in the ground at a Cov game before Saturday? You are trying to paint a picture where this happens every week.

I've also not said it's ok have i so let's keep it truthful.

From this thread Derby fans were lairy on the trains and outside the ground yesterday. If our fans acted the same way at Preston and Blackburn they would have found some obliging locals

No...but this isn't the 80s and that doesn't make shit like yesterday alright for families wanting to take their kids to a match.

I know there's a few that see this differently to me but I don't care. I feel strongly about the safety of my family when I take them to football and I don't want my lad seeing shit like that.

Exactly, it's not the 80s.

This is only the second real bit of trouble at a Coventry football match in about 3/4years.

And even then, on the odd occasions there have been trouble in the last 10 years, it's been between young lads themselves.

I was with my nephew yesterday, we walked straight past, no problems.

There were plenty of Coventry fans boozed up acting lairy at Blackburn. There was absolutely no trouble.

The aggro of the 70s & 80s started some where and soon grew almost out of control, which is why those caught arrested and charged should be made examples off, would I ban them definitely maybe not a lifetime ban but a good few years. Would act as a good deterrent, throwing objects such as coins can blind ffs!
Whoever swept the stand out from block 13/14 to the away section must of made a good few bob.

There is no rule in law to say that a person must wait to be struck first before they may defend themselves, (see R v Deana, 2 Cr App R 75).

That'll be your best hope if you're on CCTV.

Forum | Herberts. by dutch

Among the thousands in the away end and sides at Peterborough yesterday there was a surprisingly large number of young, ie under 25, herberts indulging in various forms of jolity. A few got out of
loftforwords.fansnetwork.co.uk

QPR fans (similar to Derby's forum) complaining about their own coked up Stone Island crew at Peterborough yesterday. The regulars seemed to think they are a 'new breed' at their club. Seems to be a thing on the increase?
