Pleased they've won a Test but also irked that already Stokes & co see it as some sort of vindication & counter to the criticism they've been getting.
Bowlers finally turned up - something they've rarely done under Bazball. Actually annoying because it shows how fragile this Aussie batting line-up can be - only Head, Carey & Starc have looked decent over first 3 games. Better bowling/catching at that Head/Carey partnership in Adelaide and it'd be 2-2.
But let's be clear it was a "lottery"game entirely down to a poorly prepared wicket (they'd be deducted points in the county championship for that pitch).
Let's see what they do on a different pitch in Sydney.
Cynic in me says the bookies will be happiest - not having to payout on a 5-0.

See that the pitch has been condemned - not sure but I guess it gives the Aussies an excuse for loosing 😮

There comes a point where questions have to be asked about our inability to keep pace bowlers fit

Somethings not right.

Always quite liked Potts though. Couldn’t understand why they went Overton end of summer, think it was final test, rather than Potts (assuming he was fit)

For a start if they aren't in the England XI they just don't play at all. Back in the day, before the county championship was shunted out of the summer, you'd see the XI get announced and then the players left out returning to their counties to play.

Players are coming in now having not bowled a ball for months. Seems like it's asking for trouble.

Yeah, it’s ridiculous. Feels too much of a closed shop as well. Cook was talking about this

Home pitch (despite the fact he'd played next to no red ball cricket on it in the previous 18 months)

Genuinely don't get how they can't keep the fast bowlers fit with all the sports science and practioneers in and around the squad (and the counties). They haven't bowled that many overs in this series either

Still think they are banking on Bethell's raw talent rather than developing him properly over the last 2 years

Not getting picked at Sydney has got to be the end of Bashir's England career hasn't it?

And judging by the lack of interest in him from the counties possibly his entire career.

it’s really hard to keep getting behind this team. There’s something very unlikable about a team that makes the same mistakes game after game but won’t attempt to do anything to fix the problem.

in normal times you’d expect sackings but I think they’re all off the same mindset and they’ve put McCullum in charge of the white ball side as well and there’s an impending World Cup.

I had forgotten it was on and was just searching for something to watch and unfortunately found it .

Less of a punishment than staying with this shower of shit!!! Id rather play Sunday league with the old codgers than play this shit!

Easily the most dislikable England team in history.

At least when we used to be shit it was because they were properly pissed mucking around in pedalos and flying over the ground

Really think this has been one of if not the worst Ashes series in decades. The Aussie bowling has at last deserted itself to allow us to get off to a decent start.

It’s just two bald men fighting over a comb.

Poor pitches, injuries etc. still should’ve been entertaining though and as said before I think we win it if we’d prepared and applied ourselves properly. Frustrating

Went to bed at lunch, just seen the score and I take the sarcasm back. Without having seen the highlights it seems some of these players can learn.
Aussie bowling also well below what it has been. Feeding runs with some poor line & length (must have been watching us in the first 3 Tests)

It’s about time England made some runs they couldn’t find a weaker Aussie attack if they tried apart from Starc. Boland is alright but no better, Nesser is a county trundler and Green is useless and over rated

Agreed, but can you imagine how unbearable this team would be had they of won? And all the glaringly obvious cracks would be papered over.
