Rochdale have just signed Zach Clough. Was considered quite the prodigy a couple of years ago.

If you like old school hip hop, Prodigy was an insane rapper from Mobb Deep. Interesting fact

Be ineligible I imagine. Deadline was 5pm but must be registered and cleared by 12pm in order to play tomorrow.

I'm hoping for a win but think it will be a narrow one 2-1.
Chaplin and JCH to score.

Location likely to be a big factor with him being a Bolton lad

Unfair to expect too much when Chaplin lacks competitive games and doesn't know his team mates or the system, but Rochdale aren't up to much - but then again neither are we - so 2-0 with a disappointing attendance of 9,900 - unless Chaplin has a large family - but easy parking.

Because a win earns us 3 points, which is more than 1 or 0 (at least it was the last time I studied Maths).

narrow win - suggesting who scores is always pointless.
Chaplin to come on for the last 20 minutes in place of Andreu.
A clean sheet would be as encouraging as anything else
Burge,
Grimmer, Willis, Hyam, Mason
Thomas Doyle Bayliss, Shipley
Andreu JCH

We’ll win this one, 2-0. Chaplin and JCH to score. A young and hungry strike force eager to prove themselves. Hopefully it pays dividends.

Lineup (4-4-2):

Burge
Grimmer—Willis—Hyam—Mason
Bayliss—Andreu—Doyle—Thomas/Shipley
JCH—Chaplin

Andreu or Bayliss to play on a flank. More game time for Allassani off the bench.

At least one Gills fan thought Andreu was man of the match. From their forum:

"I won't take anything away from List's special goal, but apart from that we were second best all over the pitch today, which surprises and annoys me to say.
The main difference was the speed of movement after playing the ball and being ready to receive it back again.
We were just generally slower and too slow.

Man of the match their number 22 Andreu and 8 Doyle also good and 23 Thomas had the beating of Garmston most the match."

Of course a win would be great. It doesn't even need saying (is my point).

Bayliss worries me playing centre midfield loses the ball to easily leaves his defensive duties behind.

Can’t see Chaplin starting tomorrow. I think he’ll come on with 20 to go..ease him in. Might be completely wrong.

What I don’t get is that if we still wanted Chaplin why didn’t we give Hiwula or Ponti a chance as a second striker?

Very good point.

I think it will be an unchanged team, Chaplin on the bench, eased into things gradually as he "gets to know the group" (Trademark: Managerspeak) and builds up more fitness. Andreu was really important to the way we played last week, although I am not sure one up and a withdrawn forward is really the way to go at home, so we will gradually move towards two strikers.

Me too, but in which case what is the perfect midfield 4? Not for this game but some time quite soon we will have
.
Three holding: Doyle, Ogogo and Kelly
Three "wingers" Thomas Jones and Allesani
Two "play makers" Andreu and Bayliss
one left sided work horse Shipley

We are looking for them to fulfill three functions - making goals (1 or 2 players) stopping goals (1 or 2 players) flank attack (1 player), but only 4 places.

I don’t think he’ll play 4-4-2. Most likely 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1

Can’t see Andreu not starting in the 1 if so. Excited to see Chaplin play and largely unnoticed the 4 year deal!! That’s a club sorting itself out to some extent

I think a 4 year deal is nuts. 2 year max at this level, the turnover of players is too high. Not sure why they extended Kelly's for instance.
