He probably did score Sunday with some young lady but he also should of scored Saturday.

I wouldn't want any money for them as they'd be going to waste otherwise

Burge
Willis - thought he looked solid enough at RB
Davies
Hyam
Sterling - looks like he might be a left back!
Shipley
Doyle - had a poor game Sat but feel like we still need him organising
Bayliss
Thomas - dont think he has many chances to find some end product before being dropped for JJ but imagine this game is too soon from Sat to start JJ
JCH
Hiwula - give a chance as part of a front 2 although i think MR will play Bakayoko

I just hope we dont resort to 1 up top as i think it really limits our already struggling ability to score!

2-1 win (they have to lose eventually!)

Only for 1 half. Which half to be decided by the toss of a coin.

Can't see a win for us. As much as my heart says we will, I think a draw will be the best we can hope for. I'd like to see Burge in goal as I truly believe he has improved and has more belief in himself.

Just can’t see JCH being rested after finally putting in that long awaited performance Saturday...

We seem to play well against the better sides 2-2 draw

Hiwula & JCH up front

I'm going for a city 3-0, we need to click at some point and with the amount of ex pompey players in our ranks having something to prove I can see it clicking tonight.

Pompey have been doing really well it must be said. But games come thick and fast and you can't win them all. Coventry are an improving outfit and difficult to beat when we get our game together. As with Sunderland we will be up for this and in Chaplin we have their former disgruntled player wanting to prove a point to Jacket.
I bet Pompey fans are saying "you just know he's going to score against us".
If JCH can emulate what he did the other day and Jones provide extra initiative in support of Bayliss I think we could finally be more of a force up front.
Doyle is being criticised and I don't see why? He puts in a shift that is crucial in so many ways. What he needs is a supporting cast in the form of Kelly but I'm not sure Kelly is yet match fit. We are better as a team playing the ball around and pressing forward. So I would go with attack in mind because we must score in this game if we are to have a chance of coming out on top. Win this and it's game on for our season. Lose and it's another step forward and one step back. Thomas and Jones have shown how good they are at supporting the defenders and getting up and down. Shipley can sit in with Doyle and protect the back three and put a foot in where it matters. Getting the ball to Bayliss, Jones and Thomas to cause trouble will be the outlet. Yes it's brave but worth a start. Have the bench that can change it should we need to.
........................Burge
..............Willis Hyam Davies
.................Doyle Shipley
Thomas.........Bayliss .........Jones
.................JCH Chaplin

I'm one for an attacking philosophy but frankly this is suicidal.

i would like to see us play it on ground a lil more. that move at end with jones to chaplin to bayliss before blocked shot was sublime. cut them apart.

but then chaplins chance came from long ball so once in a while is acceptable lol

I am a little pessimistic about this one based on nothing other than we haven’t got a natural left back (but sterling did so well on Saturday), burge has a head injury (but still might play...will it affect him?), Doyle might find this one game too many (he has proved us wrong on numerous occasions) and our star striker isn’t allowed to play (but hasn’t as yet found his scoring touch).
So is the pessimism justified or not?

I'd be very surprised to see Jones start. Wasn't the talk that he wouldn't be match fit until November? We are barely into October and he has only just come back.

Surely the bench again for him tonight.

Yep agree. That's what I was trying to get at when saying don't think Thomas has long left to prove himself... (before Jones is knocking at MRs door)...

Wouldn't expect Jones to be starting but he's already got 15mins under belt so wouldn't be surprising if we see 30mins or 45mins in the next couple of weeks

Anyone remember a couple of years ago when Cardiff gave us a "footballing lesson" on a Tuesday night? Lost 3-0 at home.

I feel like tonight is gonna go the same way.

Cracking support from Pompey too.

Don't. Still makes me wanna cry. We could have been Blackburn right now going for prem. Sisu didn't back him clearly in 2nd year. Got likes of dack when he went blakxburn. Or maybe it was Venus not negitioating plan a's well

Oh well we got promotion too. But I would love to play beautiful football again

Yeah, the football at the start of the second season during that 10 game run without a win was so beautiful it bought tears to my eyes - at least I think that's what it wa!

Hahaha you are a clown sometimes...

Blackburn’s budget was huge for League One a load of players still on huge wages...

We don’t have that level of money. And it would have been a huge gamble to give him anywhere near the amount he had at Blackburn.

They had a £25 million wage budget the season before relegation and they are currently 13th

Expecting a 1-1 draw. Won't be surprised if we lose. Will be surprised (and happy) if we win.
Hope Robins plays an attacking formation.

Fair point, but it’s disappointing. He’s only started a few games and had a full season to be fit. He worked hard, but so did a number of other players who I’m sure will start.

Hopefully it’s a motivational tactic for JCH.

Made it to the Oxford and Barnsley games (I’m the good luck charm) now back in Canada stuck in an airport snowstorm waiting to be rescheduled. Hopefully not while the game is on.
1- 0 Bayliss
