Why cares about Bakayoko - sterling will be a big miss

What annoys me is Luton are the form team and were expected to win, and they did easily, not in much if any trouble of not winning most the time, supporters happy to throw the towel at 0-2. The problems we have in the final third don’t look like improving and as said by someone in another post a million quids worth of forwards not in the starting line up. And we look lost without 37year old Doyle in the team. Tough times ahead I fear.

The whole thing was flat. The crowd were flat from the start (awful turn out as well) and it seemed like a home game for them.

There was only ever going to be one result

When Chaplin came on what position was he playing? I couldn’t work out what he was doing.

Grimmer was probably our best player today. Certainly put the most effort in

Genuinely not sure.

He was often the one putting in crosses, or the ball would come back out and he was stood at left wing back.

Burge had been brilliant up until last week, but I’m afraid he’s starting to fall back into old habits. I get the impression mentally he’s very weak.

Yes. This can’t carry on. He can’t keep playing one forward and the others out wide. Last season bayliss came in due to injuries and it worked out. At this level he is struggling badly

It’s incredible how few crosses we put in during 90 minutes - did we even have a corner today? - we never have enough bodies in the middle and the midfield is going backwards.

He has to at some point play two forwards and press the opposition

He really wasn’t - he wasn’t even the best full back

No point getting crosses in when you have one man in the final 20! Luton, on the other hand, flooded out box today.

I liked the idea of going 4-3-3 today, but it didn’t work. We could get the ball moving through midfield and JCH was so isolated. We’re so sloppy in the final third.

Going forward, Kelly and Doyle should partner each other in midfield, flanked by Bayliss/Shipley and Thomas. It’s back to basics for me, and the Kelly-Doyle partnership offers good distribution and defensive play. I’d give Bakayoko or Hiwula and Chaplin a run up front. I still like JCH but we need to experiment with combinations because we’re not scoring enough.

Thought we should’ve got something out of the game. Absolute rubbish just like his performance. Struts round like the big man but doesn’t deliver on the pitch.

For all the 'how awful' we were.....Luton are a good side and we had a perfectly good goal disallowed, which would have altered the dynamics of the game and the mood of the crowd. Just saying - and yes, we didn't play well.

They definitely played a part in me deciding to leave before the end of the match, first time I've ever done that. But the bigger reason for leaving was that not only were we complete shit nobody looked the slightest bit interested in trying to turn things around.

Some people on here seem to expect us to win every game we play, no matter the league. Anything else and the managers/players/everything are a disgrace.

Football fans, and seemingly ours in particular, are the most fickle people on earth.

Tbf. We've now failed to win in Our last 8 games (5 in the league), we should rightly expect better than that.

So where have we strengthened? Luton got promoted, as did Accrignton and Wycombe. They have all improved, whereas we've gotten weaker. Junior Brown no better than Stokes, Baka Chaplin and Hiwula better than McWankty and Biamou?

Accrington are one place behind us on the league. They easily won L2 last season so based on that we must have improved more than them. Perspective is required.

A loss against the best side I have seen up the Ricoh since the championship and a team full of confidence. Luton players trusted each other.
Let me tell you that coming from Riyadh this morning to a freezing Coventry was not pleasant but I wouldn't have missed it with my two sons for the world.
You can see the team are going backwards, the body language is that of a side on the slide(we have seen this once or twice over the years!)
One of the issues I believe we have is that the crowd are NOT not with the players and are ready to go moan at a moments notice. Shit support.
