Can’t see it but it needs a change up somewhere. Not necessarily this but maybe a diamond with two up top !?

Mariosi

Mason-Hyam-Rose-Dabo

Kelly

Walsh-Shipley

O’Hare

Hiwulu-Godden (Biamou)

Massive game tonight, 3 points are essential imo. Will take a scrappy 1-0 win now.

Not seen it suggested before, but could Mason on the left wing be worth a go? Not normally one for playing players out of position, but as Hiwula's been that poor, and we're so short of options on the wings. McCallum is pretty solid defensively, and Mason is better going forwards, so it could work.

Would also give us a bit McCallum more defensive cover than Hiwula would against one of the better teams in the division.

If it was Left Midfield then maybe but if we put him on the wing it would be like when we put Sterling there against Oxford.

Forgot to book the night off work until Monday night and then decided that I couldn’t lose another days holiday so the goals should flow tonight.

If we were to go to a variation of 4-4-2. It would surely be Shipley on the left. I imagine we’d see Westbrooke or O’Hare play on the right.

Definitely need Kelly back for tonight and also Mason at left back instead of McCallum. McCallum hasn't done anything wrong, just think Mason would be better physically, up against the Fleetwood players.

Is Godden back in, or still injured?

We need someone to step up tonight, With the chances we keep creating we need to start finishing them. I don't care if its a defender but someone needs to put the ball in the net.

It is something I've considered, but it'd only potentially work in a 4-4-2 which we don't play. Also if we played that the most obvious person to fill in LM would be Shipley. The bigger problem is on the right.

Seems to be an obsession of playing LB's on the LW, neither McCallum of Mason would suit the LM/LW role in any formation. Attacking as a full back is totally different to attacking as a LM.

Hiwula keeps getting into great positions, I am confident it will click and he will go on a purple patch soon enough. No matter how much he pissed me off on Saturday, he is our biggest threat at the moment.

Marosi
Dabo hyam rose mason
Walsh Kelly Shipley
O’Hare
Godden Hiwula

If all are fit of course...but I don’t see him changing it he will probably persist with a player shot of confidence in Hiwula & use O’Hare out of his best central position using him on the right

Which way are you planning to go?

I usually check traffic on m6 or a45 first to see which way I will go.

Probably worth checking or following Waze for a Sat Nav.

I went to via the A45 once and it said going across to the M6 at J4 I think it was was quicker.

I remember a game in the Premiership in the 90’s Wimbledon 0 Coventry City 0. I watched the entire game on Ceefax willing us to score.

Mind numbing

If our players could score I'd predict 2-2 but they can't so it's 0-2 for me and bet your kid's Christmas present money on it.

Looking frward to this with slight worry over the team selection again. I just can't see why you would not play Kelly and include Walsh. I also agree against this physical side we bring Mason back. Up front I hope Godden is able to play with an injection as this is a vitally important game to the 'mentality' of our season. (We can go 4th with a win or remain in 9th) Failing Godden then Max is a better choice surely than Bakayako? Let the wing backs provide the width and press high.
IF we see Bakayako, Westbrooke and no Kelly, then I think we may struggle for 90 minutes with various late substutions thrown on to rescue the game.

Thanks for that. I'd recorded that game and didn't know the result!

We've only won one in the last five, they've only lost one (to Ipswich) in the last five.
So, I'll go for a 1-1 draw.
Based on current form, I think that's being optimistic.

There was always going to be a couple of wobbles in a campaign. It's about getting the wobble under control and then a sustained climb again.

This is why the system is set up this way. It's great to see your progress.. I think it works better than looking at a league table. It is a lot more sensitive to change.

I don't think we can call this a wobble, rather it's negated our good start completely

Feeling optimistic (ish). Our style of play IS effective until the final chance, but at some point that will come good - it did last season. Plus, we have to be realistic, for all his strengths MR is a creature of routine and will not change his formation unless forced.

I’d bring Kelly back as an experienced head in the middle and unfortunately that would be for one of Westbrooke or Shipley, probably the latter as he had a quieter game against MK. I’d push Walsh slightly forward, as he’s good on the ball and I’d like to see him with it in a more advanced position.

O’Hare is wasted out wide, but if we get the system working as it should and get quicker ball forward he is very capable of being effective in an outside forward role. I know people are bemoaning the loss of Jobellos width, but the outside strikers aren’t supposed to be wingers. If him and Hiwula make lots of runs through the inside channels and off the back of defenders, I’d back all three midfielders to pick them out.

Im not a boo boy like the majority, but unfortunately Baka is a weak link. He has attributes but can’t seem to make them work and as such we carry him, especially in this system.

I hope we have some attacking threats on the bench other than Biamou and Kasteener. I’d prefer to see some of the on form and rated U23’s given a chance. I still believe there’s a player somewhere in Kast, but on current form he’s useless and doesn’t work in a footballing team.

Let’s hope we do something tonight as for all the positives of a young team, confidence will be more fragile.

Also, I expect Ched Evans to have a good game, for all the moral issues, he’s a good striker.

2-1 City.

0.5 rounds to 1 so I guess maths is optimistic?
