I hope we play some of our kids but not a team full of them. Be good to get a win to avenge the play off final, but I'm not that bothered really, just hope it's a good game and we unearth another starlet like we did when we played you in the cup a few years back and Ollie Watkins made his debut.

Attendance: 3,426 (away: 376)

Pask in for McFadzean who was the least impressive of the new signings

Good defender solid enough but passing he over does it I think Pask will end up in the first 11 soon enough.

Just because you can't improve on something doesn't mean it's an achievement. We were playing against a youth team, not keeping a clean sheet would have been an embarrassment.

What’s the point in saying anything then? Sure, it’s not an achievement. But we did keep a clean sheet. Why are you talking about ifs?

But we did keep a clean sheet so the defence did their job as they did in the first game.

I'd quite like us to go 4-4-2 and get some more minutes into some squad players legs.

Side I'd like to see - but doubt I will

Ben Wilson
Fankaty Dabo
Brandon Mason
Dom Hyam
Kyle MacFadzean
Jobello
Hiwula
Shipley
Kelly
Godden
Biamou

Subs: Marosi, Rose, McCallum, Westbrooke, Pask, Baka,

Never be that many there for a midweek evening game in Carabao Cup. However compared to the Checkatrade/Wotever Cup it'll feel like a full house.

Fucking hell lads, it's only £10 to get in. I appreciate it's in a different city, but do you really think it will be as low as 1,140?

Good point! Was thinking it was the checkatrade as I'm sure some were played last week?

Give some minutes to the likes of Hyam and Godden and the young kids.

I thought Pask has looked far better then Dabo at right back, but that was only a friendly, so I'd give him a chance as I don't think Dabo has looked like a league one player so far.

Rather than gives minutes to the likes of Hyam and Godden, why not play the actual ones?

Although I’m changing my team. Robins won’t ditch the system he played all preseason because of 1 game.

We still lack a bit of steel and I think Brown offers that certainly over McCallum who I don’t get what Robins sees in him offers nothing going forward and is always in the wrong positions when defending.

Won’t be many there just over 1k, I’m not attending as I can’t get the night off work

My guess is attendance will be 1-2k and it's these kind of games where we'll feel that we're playing in another city as most people won't be arsed for a cup competition against lower league opposition. I hope 4-4-2 with Godden and Biamou getting on the scoresheet to put the pressure on Hiwula and Bakayoko.

To be fair, most people couldn't be arsed when it was in their own city. I am hopeful those of us who did before, will do tomorrow.

.....................Wilson
Dabo..... Hyam ...Mcfadz ....Mason
.......................Kelly
...Westbrooke.........Eccles
Jobello ................................Hiwula
.....................Godden

Subs: Marosi, Rose, Shipley, Baka, Biamou, Mccallum, Bapaga

i wouldn't change to much as they didn't have a big pre season so still need match time to get used to each other but id give Hyam minutes to help get him back to first team plans, change keeper just for the cup, i really like look of marosi, id give eccles a go in middle as shipley has looked gassed after an hour v swindon, southend and then again v bolton and played poor in all three, give eccles a chance to show what he has to offer in a position i feel we are very light in this season, hope to see a CM come in on loan. then last change give godden a go from start to get him some minutes playing the way MR wants us to play.
