Interesting that up until last season some of their fans were agitating for a change of manager. Regular feature with mouthy types, usually not from Liverpool who thought Klopp was 'tactically inept'.

This is one I would love to win just for the wind up more than anything else and we have the ability to do so. Sneaky 2-1 to us

Regularly over the past two seasons there have been callers to 606 saying he wasn’t good enough, didn’t know what he was doing. Much the same as a group on here say about Robins every time we lose a game.

I wouldn't say it was even 1% of liverpool fans asking for his head, s you say its the fans who don't actually attend or take notice except for results.

Whereas with Robins here, its more a close run divide. Every time we lose his ability is questioned so intensely, it's not just people who come on to slag him, some regular posters do too.

You're allowed to think Robins is too rigid and criticise things that he doesn't change when they're not working and still not want him sacked.

So you would break up our centre back pairing. And put Willis at RB despite him saying that he prefers CB and he has also never shown any form playing as a RB.
Also playing Davies who played in a team that conceded 3 to Arsenal u23's and 4 to Ipswich u23's. I like him but he hasn't exactly earnt the shirt.

In Davies's only two games he has been voted man of the match by those actually at the game. Given Willis or Sterling who would you choose? Willis just has to take one for the team to get rid of Sterling

I'd be tempted to leave Sterling in for this game. He was properly awful on Saturday, and I'm not someone who usually gets on at him, but being subbed off so early and given a blasting from Robins might mean he turns it around. Another shit performance on Saturday then he should be out of the team for a few weeks.

Yes they do, which is the point really. You are right, it is almost every time we lose. He is clueless, he is tactically inept,he makes the wrong substitutions, he makes them at the wrong time, he is inflexible, he is out thought by other managers on a weekly basis.
He is also the manager with the best ever league win ratio; the only manager we have had to have two winning performances at Wembley; the only living manager with a promotion with us on his CV; he turned around a juggernaut of a team and a club that was heading to the rocks and within months had us heading in the other direction; he acquired, for no fee, a striker that I (and probably most people on here) had never heard of and helped him become a twenty eight goal in a season man and stuck by him when the same “experts” on here who now want Robins out, wanted McNulty out also; he has generated the money raised through the McNulty sale, the FA Cup run, the trip to Wembley, and increased ST sales to pay for the new players we have had this season. Imagine the state we would have been in if Slade was left in charge? Who else would have done or will do better than Robins?
We have a young team in general with two loaners playing their first games in men’s football. Are they given any leeway? Look at the slagging on the match day thread that Thomas got on Saturday and by default Robins gets through sticking with him.
I would love to see our resident “experts” in charge of a team (not ours as that would be a disaster) and see them put their theories into action. Also, as suggested above, come along to the Trust debate and tell Robins where he is going wrong.
How about the comment below from one of the informed posters on here about a manager who only 4 months ago was celebrating promotion.

Robins gone before Xmas blokes a clueless clown.(That was after the Rochdale game)

Or this after Saturday.

If we play like today god help us and you can guarantee robins will be out thought as he’s a stubborn thick twat

That is the type of comments regularly occurring on here about our manager who has the track record outlined above. The match thread is a non stop diatribe against him from some people. The question is why? He is human, he will make mistakes but I can guarantee he is far from clueless and knows far more about what he is doing than most of us on here, certainly the mouthy bunch who constantly whinge and criticise.

100% agree with all of this. He's a good manager for our level. Best we have had and just wish fans would put down the pitch forks and back him.

The substitutions point really pisses me off when people bring it up, because in reality you don't have players that can come on and change your style. You buy players to fit your style and normally get two players for each position, on the whole almost all of our subs will be like for like in this league.

How can somebody who was part of a defense that conceded 3 goals in a game be man of the match?

Sterling. Everyone always moans about playing players out of position, yet as soon as someone has a bad game they soon want to do it.

does this rivalry always happen when they play Sunderland?

I’d keep Sterling in. He’s been poor, but moving Willis to RB means we lose pace in the middle and have no attacking intent from RB. If he’s starts poorly then take him off and give him a few games rest. For me, losing Willis from CB is a bigger risk than starting Sterling.

I also think if we actually play football (I say this literally every week), we will win. However I’m concerned MR will play ultra defensive and stifle our play.

I’m really not a JCH fan and now we have a striker like Chaplin, the gap Biamou left is more evident. I’d give Hiwula or Bakayoko a go up front alongside Chaplin and try to play football on the floor and use their pace to get behind their defence. I don’t think that will happen though.

Still, I’m looking forward to Saturday. Let’s hope we don’t let ourselves down either on or off the pitch.

A good point. People wanting Willis to play at right back and then moan at Robins for playing people out of position. :emoji_smiley:

Did I miss something? When did Sunderland become our arch enemies?
They hate us but I personally have no interest in them whatsoever. Kinda like us hating Villa and them not caring about us
And They've only been promoted and relegated again 100 times since - get over it ffs.

Approaching 10,000 sold. Hopefully pay day and the usual few who pay on the gate may take it over 11,000 CCFC.

Davies got the highest scores against Wimbledon and Oxford Carabou (if you add up the Player Ratings on this site). Even against Oxford only one contributor did not give him at least the highest equal score. Don't do the U23's as no PR's here.

...and before you say the Player Ratings on here are a bunch of cack what is interesting is that by the time of the last pre-Chaplin game what Robins was selecting and what was being voted for here were almost identical. They had gradually converged.

I don’t hate Cov, there may be some slight animosity from the older generation or younger “uber” fans but I don’t think the majority are really that fussed.

Personally I’m looking forward to this game the most because I live in Nuneaton and work with a fair few Cov fans.
