I know the feeling. Other than my passing, shooting, first touch, heading, and tackling, I've got the everything needed to be a decent player. Except fitness and attitude, of course, but I guess I could work on that. 😁

I'm a class act, just like yourself.

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm 70 and suffer badly from arthritis in my knees and hips I'd be playing in the Premier League.

😆

Our slow build up makes it difficult for our strikers, they all want to play off the shoulder.
Honestly part of the reason I’m not too heartbroken about Bertaccini. So many of his goals looked like they came from through balls and 1v1s. We don’t do that.

It’s also why I want Richard Kone. The lad is a pure grafter who has no issue getting into physical battles with defenders. And he can score goals.

Good run out against high quality opposition. Think my main take aways from tonight are we don't have to worry about the goalkeeping position and we were able to make a decent number of changes without looking out of our depth.

Pretty embarrassing the way they were going down and rolling around. Its a pre-season game FFS.

Their season prep for their footballing ability is probably on par with theatrics training/practice, they need to make sure their diving is believable as it's likely a big part to their game, embarrassing.

Looked like they came for a training session and ended up in a hard game. You knew they were taking it seriously when they started going face to face with our players.

Perry, Torp, KKH, MVE, Sakamoto all came out on top for me (albeit some in shorter cameos).

Grimes, JDS, Simms solid enough.

Everyone else was ok. Nobody had a stinker.

Rushworth made two great stops and certainly wants to play forward and quickly. Shame we keep every player back form corners and deny ourselves that quick counter.

I thought he did ok and would be tempted to start Raphael and KKH on the right hand side on Saturday. He obviously has ability but its up to him if he takes the chances that will come his way. Its time to turn the potential that got him here, to show he belongs and push Tatsu to get minutes.

Preston bid £3m for Kone today!!

Really enjoyed tonight, we were a lot more competitive than I expected. Not going to analyse too much but I was impressed by Rushworth and some of our interplay was top notch.

More than anything it was just good to be back. That first “fuck off ref” hit like crack.

Overall good game, we look sharp mainly and comfy in possession.

Concerns;
1. No.9 / lack of X factor in forward area. Really don’t know what answer is with our 9s, and need something different winger wise also. Similar to last year, how do we unlock low block?

2. especially first half, they got in too easy, especially in LCb/LB channel again - must upgrade LCB and who is first choice Lb? jDS for now?

Lampard touched on it, we need depth, I think at least 2 wingers, perm and loan perhaps.

great to see a Competent GK! MVE, Tats, Grimes, JDS, Brau, Perry (excellent cameo) all looked good.

kitching looks like he’s lost a lot of weight, far trimmer.

Interesting few days ahead in market.

I'm sick of the everyone back for corners with no outlet.

Ultimately we only scored from a howler of a mistake. The lack of goals is glaringly obvious but Lamps wouldn't be drawn on a striker last night although he conceded that we need a CB. Simmo played a lot better actually. EMC less so, he was the one regularly lookiing offside, giving needless fouls away in good situations etc. He did have a good effort turned around the post later on but it looked off.

Thought sheaf looked lost and way off it, completely the opposite of torp when he came on.

Im a Sheaf fan boy, but even i had to accept based on tonight he wouldn’t make my starting lineup
Yeah couldn't agree more. It sort of reminds me a bit like schoolboy football in a way. You're the best centre midfielder in the team and captain, then along comes a new lad from a different team who also plays in your position and is miles better than you at what you do. Now he's the weakest of what everyone expects the starting midfield 3 of Grimes, Sheaf and Rudoni to be. Needs a really good game early on this season to renew confidence in his ability.
