based on that, I’d rather give Perry a chance than Doyle, keep the money to spend on where we need it, a centre forward

We aren’t buying Doyle, it’s something someone made up and now it’s being treated like fact. Also Doyle has played around 200 games in men’s competitive football, Perry has played zero

Couldn't agree more, it's so blatantly obvious but have we got enough money to sign a quality striker.

Lampard doesn't obviously rate Obikwu, didn't even give him a 10 minutes run out.

Impressed with Rushworth, Brau and Perry.

Like the look of Andrews, you can see why they think he can step up.

Very good friendly against a really proper outfit. At times we chased, but overall the press was excellent and we made them work to get the ball out.

2 or 3 more signings and we will be a very good side. And if we get a good start this squad with help will be up there.

Love watching Tatsu such an honest lad

It would be good but not urgent. It's great to see we have players coming through that will make a difference. It's easy to forget the quality of the players we were against and our youngsters doing so well.

Some serious work has been done on the training ground and looks to be paying dividends already.

There was a time where doyle had played zero aswell, Lampard like to develop academy players, why buy players in when you might already have the player ?

You’d hope so if we put a significant bid in for rushworth and with Binks sale

And also add them on top of the 24 players allowed. It's the way to go forward.

Simms was good and bad tonight , BTA just isn't good enough . Hopefully he goes and we bring in a striker to start/challenge Simms

To Simms credit he does make good runs that the rest of the team can be bad at finding. But his hold up play, first touch and more are poor.

I think one pre-season friendly might be a bit soon to declare that we'd be fine going into the season with just Kitching, Thomas, Lati and Perry as centre backs.

Maybe those wondering why we bid £5.5m for Rushworth know why we did now. Looking class already and will be worth a lot of points to what we have become used to.

Makes you wonder how he got to earn £100,000 per month.

It isn't that we have what we need as CB. It just isn't as important as a striker. Bring in a good striker and CB and we're about ready to go. Anything else would be a massive bonus.

dont think we’re getting both with just over a week to go, never going to have the perfect squad but I’ll be worried if we don’t add to those 2 positions, Perry is a bonus still need some cover at the back

Obikwu seemed a little lazy when I watched him, I would expect someone coming to the 1st team to look as though they are trying and busting a gut to impress

If looking at Prem loans it could be longer. Their season starts a week later normally

same here, no way Lampard is happy with what we’ve got, and we’re only a couple more away from having a really good squad

I know the feeling. Other than my passing, shooting, first touch, heading, and tackling, I've got the everything needed to be a decent player. Except fitness and attitude, of course, but I guess I could work on that.

It doesn't. But you don't have to be miserable about a good or bad performance in a friendly. But no harm in seeing a few positives.

Our slow build up makes it difficult for our strikers, they all want to play off the shoulder.

How much of the no. 9 problem is them not making the right runs, midfielders not threading balls through or the way we play? I can't remember the last time I saw one of our strikers running on to a or being given a decent through ball. Mad stuff.
