Celebrating like that when you arent in the playoffs is like celebrating being given a cake from someone with visible eczema.
They've got a good shout at getting to the play offs and have just won away at the team top of the league with a very strong home record. Not sure why football fans begrudge celebrating a win, I'd be elated if the shoe was on the other foot.

And as log as they don't, you know, scratch the eczema all over the cake, then not sure what the other issue is, either.

That goes for people without eczema, too, by the way. Scratching yourself over food you are offering to others is rude and unhygienic. No need to single out eczema sufferers there.

Not one to criticise refs but every time a City player touched a Southampton player he went down and a foul was given. Does the ref not know its a contact sport.
It was shocking wasn't it. Only worked the one way. Then there was the time Eccles was hacked down not far outside the box and the ref allowed play to continue and the lino who must have had an excellent view did nothing. That ref owns Josh a grovelling apology.

It’s a bizarre comment from someone whose never been in an away at a game when you’ve managed an unlikely win

We've only ever beat Preston 5 times in the league. 2 of them wins have been in the last 2 seasons. Under Lampard we have broken a few records. This would be yet another one.

All we have to do is continue with our home form. They will be more worried about playing us than we are them.

We’ve beat them 8 times in the league

I agree on Thomas and kitch. Feel like ppl have it in for kitching tbh.

I am trying to be polite - I think Woolfendon was a terrible signing. Hindsight and all that but he’s a waste of money.

If we go up he's helped us gain some PTS. Sell him on , make some many back. Would then have been worth it overal

That’s a silly argument. He’s been poor for the money we’ve spent.

It's not gonna matter if we go up is it

I also don't agree he's been shit.just not as good as thought. We have 4 good cb's and that will be enough to see us clinch promotion I think
We needed 4 CBs, went in heavy for Hughes and couldn’t get him so Woolf was the fall back option. He’s not been a disaster by any stretch but he’s also not really what we needed.

For me Eccles is a defensive midfielder..I don't get him, at 10. Torp or Esse.

Disagree. Scores at a decent rate, can weight a pass better than most of our CMs and has no discernible defensive ability.

Game probably deserved a draw.

Ref was poor, probably the worst this season, he reminded me of the ref we had against Burnley at home last season.

Killed the game with fussy decisions and lack of balls against persistent time wasting, the pen he gave for us was a farce also but fuck it.

Does my smiling eyes emoji balance out the poo?

XG has its uses but is frequently treated as the be-all-and-end all by people who don't understand football.

It gets trotted out on here constantly - it's like a maths online lesson in here sometimes
Such a boring pointless thing to wheel out

Thought today would be challenging and before game would have been grateful for a draw.

Really not surprised or worried by defeat.

Not scapegoating, but regard Kitch and Wolf as our back up CBs: it's expecting a lot to win with them against a very 'competitive' outfit. As others have said, I would have had Lati in the side (ahead of Kitch - I think he places too many clearing headers into bad places, like he did in extra time v Bristol)

Still confident we are going up: sometimes a reality check is not such a bad thing. We could easily have snatched an equaliser at the death, just one of those horrible days.

Although Southampton's players deserve criticism for some cynical, nasty challenges, their tactics were very good and they deserve some credit for a victory in a very difficult away fixture.

But we will have the last word: we are going up, I doubt they are.

Especially given how we celebrated a (checks notes) draw at their ground.

It was infuriating in the moment but I can live with today's result. Southampton played well and we had plenty of chances we just didn't take. It felt like the ref was going to try and score for them at some points but fuck it, sometimes it's just not your day.

We've come out of today 7 points clear of 2nd and still 9 points clear of 3rd. Onto Swansea.
