I wouldn’t be starting him against Norwich away. BTA needs to get up to speed asap. His press and energy is great, plus he gets closer to Haji or the striker to create better chances.

I think for the next few away games a midfield of Grimes , Torp and Eccles sees us more secure centrally without losing too much attacking threat as Eccles has been very good lately with his progressive passing

Maybe they've both been just given a free role? BTA being a striker by trade see his "free role" more centrally and area focused whereas Rudoni sees his more of creating and crossing? Both playing the free role 10 position in their own ways maybe?

BTA will naturally play more in and around the box, but I would still be telling Rudi as free as your role is, stay down the middle third, as not only does he slow the wingers up, he also then takes away an option centrally for them to play to

I'm sure BTA will be coming in for Rudoni now.

Give him some time out of the pressure to refocus.

Eccles at 10?

he had a good game tonight, thought he was one of our best players before he went off and agree he looked more creative, but would you pick him over a fit BTA?

surely you tell Grimes and Torp to play closer together? or we bring in Neil and Onyeka before next Monday and problem solved

I personally think Rudoni isn't helping Grimes passing options either . He's a hard target to hit when he's way out on the wing .
I love BTA and think when he's fully fit will compete for the 10 role but currently I would go with Torp and Eccles in front of Grimes , especially away from home

BTA goes into the 10 next game for me. It shows how we’ve missed him, every time he comes on our entire team ups it’s performance tenfold

We said it’d be a tough test and it really was, they’re a good team. More uncomfortable than Saturday for larger periods.

I just can’t overlook how we seem to suffer defensively down both wings, seemingly all the time now. We do get off the hook somehow quite a lot of the time.

The thing with Grimes is he has set the bar so high for himself, when he dosnt have an outstanding game it shows. Not saying he had a bad game tho

He’s misplaced more passes recently but still covers so much ground and so many gaps. As a few have said Lampard and the coaching team need to look at how we set up defensively as a team, I’m all for aiming to score plenty of goals but if Rudoni is playing he’s got to work more centrally as teams are regularly exploiting weaknesses on the counter (every team has spotted this). Hopefully once we have a settled back four again it will also help.

All about the results at the moment though and tonight’s another massive win

Shout out to sakamoto who was excellent when he came on.

Thought we played well and looked the better team overall

We're part sof game that got away from us though

Rudoni struggled. Lati and JDS rebounded with better second halves. I hope rudoni gets going consistently again soon.

Wright did well. Much more involved . Really good goal too

Eccles did well and that's exactly what you want in squad depth

Mve just don't get why he is so against crossing. Always wants to pass it back most of time.

Esse looks a cracking signing

Millwall are a strong team. It's a big win. And takes bit of pressure if next 2 away games. Clement doing good stuff at Norwich. I'd take 2-3 points from next 6 .

Here's hoping mark robins gives us yet more to cheer as sky blue fans tomorrow

Rushworth with another big save

Lati proved why he doesn’t suit this style but made some great defensive contributions to be fair

Grimes below par

Rudoni ineffectual

EMC is consistently one of the most dangerous players on the pitch these days

Decent game for Wright capped with the goal

Esse - what a player. Still not quite on the same wavelength as some and too much faffing but if he can refine his game slightly he’ll be unplayable.

Eccles ability is beyond his confidence. He can play some great passes but will choose the easy option like he doesn’t believe in himself sometimes. If he could he’d be an excellent midfielder.

You can say the same about all of our midfielders, arguably our best player at hitting long balls is Kitching

If only he could defend

We really miss a CM with the range of Hamer. I thought Grimes would be that guy but doesn’t seem to be.
