Ipswich’s remaining fixtures are rough - five away games in February, then Birmingham, Southampton and Middlesbrough in April. You can see them hitting their stride and breezing through all of them (which would obviously be bad news for Boro) but you would much rather have our remaining fixtures than theirs.
If you think we have ample squad depth I'd love to know your thoughts on theirs!

Sorry to repeat but we need someone who can come on for Grimes, that will tighten up the defence as he becomes tired, because he is knackered. If we get this Brentford lad he is able to slot into the back line to make an extra defender when the opposition are pressing.
We need some pace defensive central midfield to get back and cover or a pacy central defender.
Not sure if the Brentford lad has that.

Anybody got a replay of the offside goal? I thought esse got in the way of a defender when it happened.
I thought it was a goal; he was clearly offside, but made no attempt to play it.

The counter is that he's in the defender's mind. I thought we were unlucky, but those are hard calls and don't really have complaints.

I know he didn't try to play it but I thought the defender ran into him so he got in the way. Others who saw it seemed to think he didn't.

He did tbf. But not intentionally. He was in an offside position so just stood still. The defender then ran in to him. He didnt deviate or move to block him. Just stood still and got ran in to. I can see arguments for and against tbh. Personally, I felt it was harsh to rule it out. But can also see why it was.

Yeah you're right, that's the big puzzle for me, is Rudoni told to play out there, if not sort it Frank.
I can't imagine that he's doing something he's not been asked to do (and that Lampard would keep playing him if he was) but look at how different BTA took on the role when he came on.

Why wouldn't FL have told Rudoni to do that earlier? Why would he just tell BTA to play in a completely different manner to the player he's replacing? It just seems odd.

Yeah I know he didn't intentionally but wanted to see a replay so I can slate the officials 😏🤣

Maybe they've both been just given a free role? BTA being a striker by trade see his "free role" more centrally and area focused whereas Rudoni sees his more of creating and crossing? Both playing the free role 10 position in their own ways maybe?
