In hindsight it always looks the right decision when it works out OK. Truth is , and many would agree, Robin's probably would have achieved a similar outcome. He was never going to languish at 17th with the squad he had. But it is what it is, change can be a good thing and add impetus and Frank has done exactly that. Time will tell on his measure of success. Robin's had 8 years with brilliant success and Frank been here a little over half a season. I admired Frank as a player and if he turns out to be half as good as a manager then we will have more exciting times ahead.

I liked the look of Hayden Hackney today, only 22, wouldn't mind if we went for him in the summer

I think Lesta should give Van Nostril a new 10 year contract,he's done a superb job.

Robins would have turned things around, I'm sure.

But I can't see any way that we would have ended up in a similar position.

Maybe top 10 at best, but more likely, mid table.

I absolutely loved the bloke, but he was getting too stubborn and was beginning to get a little stale in his thinking.

Lampard has done a fabulous job. Robins would never have managed the same. And what the hell was going on with Kitching? Gone from left in the wilderness under Robins, to being almost undroppable with FL in charge.

Robins would have certainly improved on 17th but let’s be honest here without Viveash he wasn’t looking the same manager.

Robins will always be a City legend but the vast majority of us have now moved on, those that haven’t seem to be those that wildly over reacted in the first place.

I would disagree slightly, because I was very vocal about Robins going and thought it was entirely wrong for him to be sacked. I am not so sure many at all, really wildly over reacted. There's always one or two that you get with everything, where they say "that's it, I am never going up again."

Always a few odd drama queens.

Anyway, for me, I was absolutely gutted when Robins went, but as soon as Lampard came in, I turned my focus on to him and started backing him.
Definitely moved on and now I don't even think about Robins much at all.

Glad he survived relegation with Stoke though. Want to see him do well (just not in the same division as us )

I hope whatever clown gave Bellingham YPOTY over Rudi watched that yesterday - the lad was unbelievable and the passion he shows for the club is a joy to see

A quiet morning after the phenominal day before.

I've never been more confident before a home game than I was yesterday, I knew the atmosphere would be good but my fellow CCFC fans blew my expectations out of the water. I don't think anyone who was present will ever forget yesterday, WLADITT was sensational and I worried for the stadium foundations after the second goal!

If it wasn't for Rudoni, Wilson would have been my MOTM - You'd never believe this was his first game in months, incredibly solid and confident, and saved the day more than once with his sweeper keeping. Sakamoto, Grimes and Sheaf also put in great shifts, and where on earth did that cameo from BTA come from? He utterly terrorised the Boro defence and his impact was immediate!

A long pre-arranged holiday will prevent me from being at the CBS on Friday but after yesterday I'm even more confident; the Sky Blue Army will find a way to somehow top the atmosphere from yesterday and I truly believe we'll easily turn Sunderland over in the first leg meaning we'll just need to run a tight ship in the second. See you all at Wembley!

Blows my mind that every player in the squad wouldn’t want to stay back and work with Lampard.

I dunno. Lowest ever points tally for play offs, I think we’d have been in the mix. Which TBF the top ten pretty much were.

Ultimately though it doesn't matter does it now .

Robins an incredible humble manager for us and gave us everything we ever wanted for years .. left a great platform for frank to build on and hopefully we get where we all want to be under him , the premier league

One difference I will say - there was never any stories of players staying back with Robins to work on things.

Rudoni and Torp have clearly been working with Lampard on parts of their game and without this one to one training it’s likely they could have carried on as they were.

Our good form has coincided with this work, on top of that, Robins was stubborn enough to keep Kitching out the side, and I doubt Grimes would be signing without Lampard being here.

do I think Robins would have got better? Yes - but I don’t think he’d have reached the heights Lampard has

I said before I was looking at Leeds who sell out every season and seem to hold back 25% of home capacity, that would be something like 22k for us, but that seems low. Maybe 24k?

I've no attachment to the CBS, but its so much better when it's full.
To have the home ends 90-100% every week would be incredible.

The last PO season bumped our average from 19,950 to 25,468. Anything close to that again and we’re selling out every week basically.

I don't think I saw anyone stand out for them, they obviously did make more of a fist of it than their last two visits,or maybe it was our strikers who didn't stand out particularly,in particular holding out until close to HT.

Boro were a decent team but fluffed their chances up front.

It clearly killed their season selling Latti Lathe and not replacing him properly.
