Their 20 , centre forward gave Thomas a torrid time , won every header and held the ball up superbly, didn't look to have too much more though and didn't feature at all 2nd half up against Kitchin

no, he's rarely if ever played him wide right
Rudoni would play RW presumably… One of the reason we switched to 5-3-2 last season was because Rudoni was shifted out to LW after EMC got injured v Millwall.

Rudoni has ended up on the RW quite a lot after we’ve made subs which is why people see a logic to having a midfield of Rudoni-Torp-Grimes-EMC.

It was actually good defending from Bidwell when he seemed to allow the player to run into our box imo, if he'd have committed to a tackle he was practically last man and at big risk of giving away a foul. He gave the player limited sight of goal and made a good block.

Nah it was poor.

The guy picked it up about 45 yards out and was allowed to get a shot away on the corner of the 6 yard box. That's criminal. Force him out wide, hold him up, make a tackle - anything but let him run 40 yards unopposed.

the reason we went 3-4-1-2 was panic by robins then a lack of wingers i.e wright and emc both out under fl

This would be my punt.

While it’s a similar shape, having two strikers would you’d hope make us more direct.

Seven big chances against Luton to Hulls one for example.

TBH if our reindeer team strikers couldn’t create chances against L1 reserves I’d be worried.

EMC on the right though? Not sure about that. Or Brau starting. Thought he looked decidedly mid at reserve level.

It’s left to right.

On the first point, I always maintain you can only play the team in front of you. Luton are one of the better teams. Take Middlesboro vs Doncaster.

Should we win yep, but think there’s enough there to try it in the league imo

Surely EMC is right footed? Should be able to cross with it from the right byline

Correct on both counts. Specifically, Rudoni is the key to the 4-2-3-1 system and playing him LW reduced his impact on the game and the midfield didn’t function as well with Torp as an AM.

Hence, you swap out your winger (Sakamoto) for a striker and play your key AM in 3 man midfield.

The lineup is reversed, it's left to right rather than right to left - it caught me out for a moment.
