He's too deep, too often recently. Torp has got acres to cover alone, that's why we look better with Eccles in 10 than Rudoni, because Eccles is helping out in central midfield and the whole formation links together better. Esse is compounding the issue by playing so high, which looks to be his natural game. Dangerous when he gets the ball but we're playing 5-1-1-3 at times.

Grimes and the fullbacks need to be way more in sync about who is pushing forward, and when.

I think after we lost our first to Ipswich we should have gone to a more condensed stodgy set up.

Loads of times we have dropped points recently is down to us losing the midfield battle.

I think some questions really need to start being asking about Lampard too in this run. Wrong set-up today, wrong set-up against Charlton, wrong set-up against Ipswich. The defensive set up is horrendous.

They look sharper than us and their passing is more quick and incisive. Our movement is to predictable. Maybe too early for Thomas-Asante but he does provide greater variations.
