Has anyone else noticed how bullish about their chances Hull fans are? Listened to one of their podcasts and they are very confident for the new season. See the replies to this for further examples:

I thought we would be getting rid of JDS and Bidwell. We didn't. It was one comment. You will find after that how I said JDS for me and Bidwell as cover as he never moans.

Now I'm supposed to have said he is starting on the left. Look above. If you want to carry on with this how about finding where I have said he is starting our next game especially as MVE will most probably be gone.

Don't worry am adding you to the Grendel list for my mental health.

Just had Big El drive past me in CV5. I'm taking that as a sign that he's starting on Sat and everything's gonna be sound!

Barring any glaring squad omissions I'd hope that an opening game in front of a packed out CBS after 3 months off would be nothing but a win

To be fair I remember how positive we were last season after we beat Everton.

Doesn't mean much either way (outside of Wednesday, feel really bad for them atm)

Looks like they're recruited in defence and midfield, up front looks a little suspect - not sure where the goals come from there

2-0 I think

They’ve made a fair few signings! Most are players I wouldn’t be too interested in coming to us.

I remember reading they’ve had a decent preseason and have looked defensively pretty good?

I don’t know what you’re on about that’s a direct quote of you saying KKH starts over Dasilva against Hull, he still might. Just wondering if you still think this it the case?

If MVE is on verge of being sold, he will not be playing…. Too risky

To Start..
Rushworth
MvE Thomas Kitching DaSilva
Grimes Sheaf
Sakamoto Rudoni EMC
Simms

Torp replaces Sheaf after 60
KKH (if fit after that nasty ankle knock he took) replaces MvE after 60
Brau replaces EMC after 65
Wright & BTA replace Simms & Rudoni after 70

But I'm no seer, so probably nothing like.

The important thing here is to get a good start to the season, unlike the last couple. We have enough squad talent to make a true challenge. A few early wins under our belt and we could be in the mix early on and with confidence growing could be our year. But it will not be based on this first result, whatever the outcome. It's what we do in the first half dozen fixtures. Go unbeaten, win 4 or 5 of them and see where that leads us.
We should beat Hull btw quite convincingly...

Gotta admit that when you look at everyone’s predicted starting XI it basically hasn’t changed since last season. Rushworth is just filling Dovin’s place, same for KKH with Van Ewijk, can’t say atm that either are upgrades.

Yeah there’s several weeks left of the window but it’s a bit frustrating we basically haven’t changed the quality of the team (so far), the CB and CF areas are glaringly obvious problems to fix imo.

Were you expecting us to start with 9 players?
