Good game. Great win. Never a penalty; could see that even from where I was.

I know I'm old and grumpy but can't people manage to contain their bladders for 45 minutes and also get in their seats when the game starts. Up down, up down. People in front up, down, up, down. Particularly when they come and go as a gang of 5-6. Rant over

Tbf ive gotten into the habit of going for a piss in the last few minutes purely because Im so nervous im terrified of seeing whats on the pitch in front of me

Didnt even need one in the 88th minute yesterday but standing in the toilets forcing out a dribble of wee passes 2 or 3 minutes 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😂😂😂

What I like about Ellis' performance yesterday is that you can see the massive improvement from Simms 1.0 and what the coaches have been working on.

I mentioned a few weeks ago how his hold up play and laying off had improved. Yesterday we saw him turn his man and run full pelt at the goal more than once - Vik style. He's not quite at the Vik level of converting those charges yet, but he's getter there and at least taking the ball away from danger now - when once the ball would have ricocheted off his foot towards our goal and to an opponent.

I note that Josh is back taking corners too and they are improved. Next focus must be finishing one-on-one if he's going to play as a 10 occasionally.

While I totally agree with your post I still don't think he'll be here next season.

He's right to say they want to emulate us.
I could see him building something at Derby if he's given time. He's a good manager.
With the direction football is moving in tactically, players who really know each other and have good cohesion matter more than ever. Add in a top keeper and that is the formula for getting out of this division.

Rushworth again bailed us out in the first half yesterday, not for the first time.

Great quote from Eustace after being asked about the penalty.

Eustace didn’t got into the details, but he clearly had his tongue firmly in his cheek when he joked: “I thought he was excellent the referee – best game he’s had in his career!” 😂

The BBC also have them clear on xG, but it’s something like 0.9 xG for the penalty that shouldn't have been given. That was nearly half their xG.View attachment 50357
FootMob’s numbers has changed and our xG is higher now, I’m pretty sure they initially downplayed Rudoni’s two goals.

Derby are a good outfit and gave us a tough game. Nonetheless, we limited them to 3 shots on target and one of them was a penalty. We managed the game and disappointment of being pegged v well.

A couple of points on the pen.

the ref was desperate to give he. He was adamant it was a pen and would not listen to players or even consult the linesman.

Diaz actually dives. You can see him start to two footed jump before rushworth is next to him

Diaz didn’t dive he made sure the keeper made contact. Alan shearer did it all the time.
