Should I go and buy coffee from Starbucks at a few quid each and waste an hour of my day doing it or use the big tub I got from Costco that lasts about 2 months and was about £15 that takes five minutes?

Easy choice!

Yeah.

Have to say, pretty much everything I have bought from Asda which has their own branding has been very poor. Bakery, cakes, biscuits, cereals, ready meals, chocolate etc.

Had similar with Morrison own brands, but usually find Aldi, Tesco and Sainsbury's own brand stuff nice.

For instance, my daughter loves a chicken korma ready meal every now and again. She's tried them all. Aldi she says is the best and she also likes the Tesco and Sainsbury one, but didn't like the Morrisons one or Asda one at all. Not one bit and we had to throw them away.

My mum keeps buying cakes from Asda and my daughter doesn't care for them at all.

Agree with you on teas and coffees. Scandalous prices, but I think with a restaurant meal you are getting a bit of skill and care and preparation with it.

Happy to pay a fair whack for a really nice meal, but not for a tea or a coffee ..... or a glass of spring water!

Maybe an actual meal you would. Not a pizza.

Not so sure.

There is one pizza at Bella Italia that is bloody lovely. One of the best pizzas I have ever had. Obviously not talking about your plain old cheese and tomato.

Campagna

Red pepper, red onion, mozzarella, goat's cheese, Pachino tomatoes, rocket, pine nuts and balsamic glaze.

It tastes amazing and there is a bit of work gone into that.

Yeah they have just got the stuff out of the fridge and sprinkled those ingredients on rather than just cheese and tomato

They haven't been out back to milk the goat or pick the tomatoes.

If the woman behind the counter in Asda had those ingredients she could whip me one of those up.

The balsamic glaze is beautiful. Don't know what they do to it, but it's kind of caramelised.

I bet the Asda woman COULD whip you up one of those, but I bet it'd taste awful.

Bet you were a barrel of laughs when your kids were younger, Nick.

'Daddy, it's a lovely day, can we go to the seaside?'

'No! You can go and sit in the back garden garden and I'll go to Wickes and buy some building sand.'

My daughter still is young.

To be fair, thankfully she doesn't mess about with niceties for the sake of it either She enjoys making her own pizzas and choosing ingredients and putting them all on!

Whoever does that obviously has the "Big Daddy" method if tidying up spillages. Just chuck some newspaper over it and job done.

You can't beat a nice meal out though.

One of my favourite pastimes.

Every month or every couple of months depending on work patterns.

She would much rather put her wellies on and go walking through the woods or play a board game and get some sweets.

Have to confess, I am riding on the shirt tails of my parents.

I can hardly ever afford to eat out, but they pretty much ONLY eat out and are always paying for us (myself, wife and daughter).

They just don't know what to do with their money, so are always in restaurants.

I turn them down 9 times out of 10 because I don't wish to take advantage, but that 1 time in 10 equates to once a fortnight of eating out for me.

Just found out they have retained that offer, Si.

The 2 sides for £6 has gone though.

Love those pizzas, I can only get them when the wife's away though as I get them with the garlic oil and I must absolutely reek after

You will have to try MOD when it opens in March.

£7.87 and a choice of 30 toppings, differing bases, differing oils and sauces . As many toppings as you want and as much as you want.

Typical stingy cov that is. The asda pizzas are decent but a proper pizza cooked at the right temperature (a few hundred degrees hotter than a domestic oven) is worth paying more for

You joke about it.

Once bought some of those, 4 tesco value ciders and got value snakebites.

May as well have just eaten batteries.

If I am going to go all out trampy I will get a can of Breakers and sit on the front garden.

Yes, saw that this morning and have very much been following the Charterhouse project closely anyway.

Can't wait for it all to be open. Should be a real gem.

It always takes the gloss of it when they present you with the bill afterwards.
And usually, the better the meal, the higher the bill.
There's a waterfront dining place within walking distance from me.
I could walk there in 10 minutes.
I looked at the menu options online and decided it's more than I want to pay for a meal, so I'll never go there.
The only time I splurge on meals is on birthdays or when I'm on holiday.

Love eating out but also love cooking.

Tried Bella Italia at the Belgrade and that was nice.... will try the Otis Pizza next time

Biggest gripe is the sheer lack of support or respect the City gets at times . if we are opening up a fancy restaurant then bring it on... I’ll be there supporting it and that involves travel from north leics

Good for the soul, if not the pocket.

Nowt better than being with friends or family and sharing a meal and some conversation.

I have the family. Now i just need to get some friends.
