They haven't got the bottle so early on, I always thought it was one or the other.

We are standing off Stevenson so far...

I won't be surprised if McNulty doesn't play much more than half a game - can't believe he's recovered that quickly

Vincenti looks to be playing very central, not sure if that's meant though or he is drifting.

Sounds like we've had a couple of positive moments already, that bodes well!

They are passing round us like a training game, we are going to be knackered.

Just had a perfect example of how to unlock a defence, quick ball to their midfielder who then puts their striker clean through.

Thankfully he was offside though.

What do we do? Take the goal kick and give it them straight back.

Everything is going down their left side

Can only guess that they may have prepared for DKE to be playing?

And again, defence splitting pass to put their striker through but fortunately took a random bounce.

We get it out to McNulty who has 4 of their players on him, who wins a throw in..

We then try to work the line and give the ball away.

HOW FUCKING OBVIOUS?

I still wake up in cold sweats, screaming in the night, remembering various Willis performances at RB. But he may be the lesser of two evils compared with DKE.

I wonder if Hyam might be RB material, he could swap with Willis. Anyone?

Long Free kick from Shipley, headed clear and they get the second ball. Kelly aimlessly passes it forward to them. He gets it back then aimlessly hammers it forward again

Whats the fucking point, Biamou is up there and McNulty has 3 on him.

Throw in, Stokes has it. Gives it away to them.

Has nothing been learnt from the weekend? Not even the basics?

Anybody already getting more and more concerned about how this is looking?

Tame shot for Colchester deflected wide

Burge went down to claim but ended up with a panicked look on his face as it crept past the post for a corner

Exactly as predicted so far, they are passing it round and we are chasing shadows.

Schoolboy stuff. Only Robins doesn't seem to see it.

They are passing it around like Barca, all we can do is hammer it up field and hope like we did on Saturday.

Just need a moment of magic to win it.

Shipley is playing central pretty much as well leaving 2 of theirs out wide.

This has been dreadful so far.

Colchester keep the ball for 30 seconds create an opportunity, we get the ball and punt it forward to McNulty or Biamou they lose it in the air and then they attack again

Burge doing his old trick of appearing to handle outside the area before releasing his kick

Fortunately Lino doesn’t spot it

Ball is then kicked straight out for a throw

They hit a long ball forward, low and behold they have somebody on the overlap to get the flick on. Simple stuff.

Burge kicks it out of play.

It's like being at school and every time you go your usual way to school the school bully stops you and steals your dinner money.

There are a few different routes you can take to go to school in order to avoid him, but you decide to keep going the same way and hope the bully just gives in at some point and leaves you alone.

Is it just me or does Clive Eakin mistakenly say we're playing Chesterfield pretty much every game?!

Yep, they are being patient and trying to unlock the defence. We are hoping for a defender to miss it for McNulty to go through. Even if Biamou wins the header there are enough Colchester players to sweep it up time and time again.

Good passing move by Colchester splits our defence. Luckily their strikers touch was a poor one and he loses the ball just as he gets to the box

They unlock our defence again and put striker through, but luckily a heavy first touch.

We are getting a lesson again so far in the basics. We keep just hammering the ball back to them like it's an attacking drill for them in training.

They look much more composed on the ball and considered in their passing, We really look rag-bag.
