Well I did it - we have a doctor living near us and I think it showed some respect and acknowledgment for him

Leave a box of milk tray and a bottle of blue nun on his doorstep. Go that extra mile.

We did it with the kids and my mum is a nurse at university hospital albeit we find calling her easier! It was a great gesture but agree it then turned into a ‘look what I’m doing, aren’t I great’ shitshow on Facebook

It looked impressive- sure, there would have been some "look at me" types, but I thought it was brilliant and it actually made me a bit homesick

I think with anything you'll get the people who just want to be looked at but on the whole I thought it was lovely, really surprised at how widespread it was as I had it as some hashtag nonsense that nobody would bother with.

I woke up today with a persistent dry cough and headache from hell. I went to the toilet earlier and felt weak as piss.

It's definitely a bed day.

Too bad, FM. Hope you recover quickly.
Funny thing is they said a banging headache was less associated with Covid-19 and more likely to be flu or a cold - which are obviously still around, let's not forget. Is that another bit of advice to ignore? They are still very much saying if you haven't got a temperature, difficulty breathing or a new persistent cough, you don't have Covid.

I have everything but the difficulty breathing. Can't people have it with next to no symptoms?

listening to 5live today some medical person they had on said there's no hard and fast rules regarding the symptoms you can get a wide range of them or very few and it can vary.
Basically it trys to attack each individual in a different way according to the persons biological make up. Good luck FM.

Seems to be if you've got the cough, fever and breathing issues it's almost definitely it, a few of those symptoms it's probably it, if you're ill at all it could be it, and even if you're fine you're possibly carrying it.

Basically 'fuck knows' until widespread testing is possible

See I self isolated a fortnight ago because I had a cough, then convinced I didn’t have it because I felt a little fluey for a day but no real fever, still have the cough (like a smokers cough) and shortness of breath now not sure if I had it or not? Whole family came down with whatever I had, ex got it worst and kids the least.

Mild COVID with no fevers or just another bug going round that attacks the respiratory system? If the latter I’m now doubly worried about getting COVID while I’m already struggling to breathe properly.

So frustrating.

Yeah, it will be good if they can start doing anti-body testing.

I created this thread January 26th. I was one of the ones thinking it was scaremongering.
Just have a look at the comments first few pages. Mental how horrible this has become.

Yep, and I was one of the early replies concurring your thoughts.

Very scary indeed how this has manifested.

I hope what I have is COVID because I'm pretty sure it's not going to kill me but I don't think I'll ever know.

Everyone with symptoms should have access to testing. It's a joke.

Been handed a letter at work. Explains how I am a key worker. Been told to keep it in my car as a few of us have been pulled commuting for work. Shows the police are doing as instructed.

And on another note the wife informed me that lockdown has been extended for another 15 days in France today. They are now officially in lockdown until April 15th.

If i need to go to work as part of an emergency response (i'm in health & safety), i have to fill in an application to our Major Incident Team and print off a travel permit saying i'm an essential worker in case i get stopped - thinking is that road blocks may not be too far away.

Many authorities are not doing this and the governments own directive is you can go to work if it’s essential as you can’t work from home - you don’t have to be an essential worker

Exactly, don't see how they can police this at all. What about people that have to drop shopping off for vulnerable relatives, you won't have any paperwork for that.

The communication is still confused. Yesterday they had someone from the police on the radio saying essential travel only then they had someone from the council saying the parks were still open but they'd consider closing the car parks if too many people drove there - clearly implies you can drive to the park which isn't essential travel!

You will struggle for an excuse if there are no shops in the direction you are coming from or going to.

But most places where the work is non essential have been closed to stop the virus spreading.

have been in or by the Memorial Park last couple of days, in the afternoon yesterday so there were a fair few people around at that time. Everyone in small groups, so I'm assuming people they live with, and being sensible and keeping their distance.
If everyone does that then there's no need for the police to get involved or for the government to up the severity of the measures and everyone can enjoy the fresh air.
You know me, always ready to pile in on the Tories but sometimes people have got to help themselves a little bit.
