Yeah but Dianne Abbott, Marxism etc, etc.
they really are fucking scum.

We need a high profile Tory death to cheer us up. Preferably in a freak walking accident like Stephen Milligan.

I was thinking Physiotherapy as the career change, even if I stick in my current job and give myself a better chance of working up when the jobs become available. I spoke to the Cov Uni a couple of years ago (physio) and they wouldn't accept me as I was missing GCSE Maths at B. I have Mechanical Engineering at level 3 and done that for 14 years,

The age isn't so much an issue for me being early 30's but I have the mortgage and bills, when I was looking at it, I'm pritty sure you're exempt from council tax as a full time student (not sure how it works with a wife and kids etc). Not sure if all banks are the same but Santander were very accommodating and let me have a good play about with the figures and stuff too allow me to do uni and not get into debt, etc.

Id have another word TBH. Very rare that they demand GCSEs for mature students in my experience. Especially if you can prove competence with experience.

Delusional.

Politics Isn’t sport mate. It’s OK to criticise when your team fucks up. When you find yourself claiming every other country on earth is lying about deaths and ours are the only honest ones it’s probably time to step back and have a word with yourself.
You reckon China only had 80k cases and 4k deaths? Yet videos online show people dropping dead in the streets, you recon the million graves dug by Brazil filled themselves and now there digging more, I'm not saying other cou trys are lying although some clearly are, I'm just saying the reporting system is different in every single country and that's a fact, and my team? I'm neutral and always will be Labour have good policies so do cons.

Some of the issues we have now goes back to before covid. Lack of funding the NHS - every winter just with regular flu the NHS is on its knees with ambulances queuing outside A&E; lack of funding the police - how are they supposed to enforce any restrictions when they don't have the manpower for their existing workload; lack of funding schools - large class sizes, old cramped schools with poor ventilation or even schools in old office blocks.

Clearly there were things we could have done. We're among the worst for deaths and the among the worst for economic performance. We're also an island and had plenty of warning so you could make a fair argument that we should be doing better than pretty much everyone.

Simply put we're not following the science, and we never really have. Even back when they did the simulation a few years ago, the things that were highlighted then were ignored and are the problems we have now. Most things that have come in have been down to public pressure rather than the government actually leading.

Again an issue here that predates covid. Our 'safety net' isn't fit for purpose. If you lose your job you're expected to live on £410 a month (although the government is planning a big cut to that early next year). Other countries already had systems in place so it was just a larger uptake of their usual system, and in some cases extending the schemes so people can stay on them for longer.

We had to start from nothing. That's why we had to rush in furlough, which was good I'll give you that but maybe could have been implemented better to ensure only companies that needed it could claim and there was some pressure to get people back in. The replacement system IMO will have very low take up and I suspect thats by design. Since it was announced the company I work for have already done two rounds of redundancy. They are all 'viable' jobs that will be needed in the future but why would they keep people on now when its going to cost them more than letting them go?
I didn't say anything otherwise about the NHS being cut over the past 10 years or what ever, no one knew a pandemic was coming it wasn't until end of January when who decided it was time to say they have cases of human to human transmission and by then it was already spread around the world, ofcourse better things could of been done but name one person from any party that would of done a better job tha. What we have to work with right now?

When someone tests positive in the country authorities test more than 100 close contacts.

Personally would put them anywhere near a major country, but I can agree sk have got it spot on but they so had plenty of stuff implemented from either Sara or mers, they already had a track and trace system in place they so have one of the highest ventilation beds per 1m, but this is one country out of hundreds, I still don't see how people can compare us to China though like they clearly lied about everything.

Just about every man on the planet is more competent than Boris Johnson, bar a couple of the goons he'#s surrounded himself with to make him feel good about himself.

Give me Jeremy Hunt(!) above him now, or Theresa May, Or Brian Blessed. It's a nonsense to say anybody else would have done so badly, when we've got a leader famed for not liking detail, and renowned for going for big ideas rather than planning.

China's handling of the pandemic, no matter how great or poor is not an excuse for the way our government's performed.

I might just be able to forgive the incompetence if they hadn't showed themselves to be highly adept at siphoning tax payers money to their cronies.

I am simply. Saying no other person in government would of been handle the virus any different from any party that's just a fact, as for China if they hadn't shot up there whistle lowers maybe we would of been more prepared by a few mo ths of the seriousness of the virus.

wow! The same China who created the virus. everyone at the start saying how well Germany were doing. not hearing that argument now. end of the day. dealing with this ‘virus’ is impossible.for me it’s the same as normal flu. Life has changed for good. Every winter now will never be the same again. virus every year changes to different strains

It's not a fact. It can't be proved.
I could say Screaming Lord Sutch would have handled it better, that doesn't make it a fact.

You are aware the Government carried out a pandemic drill a few years ago (operation Cygnet?) and ignored every recommendation so they could have been much better prepared.

Already stated in the post prior to that reply, take a look and you think that's the true number of cases? They have tested like 15 mil people you reckon 50% are positive, and as It clearly states I am on about deaths they made over a million graves and no are making more but deaths are no where near a million so whys re they making more?
