Italy numbers have dropped today for the first time let’s hope it’s spiked there now

the number of deaths in the UK has pretty much matched Italys if you take them from the day of the first death in each country up until yesterday.
Yetserday was day 22 and UK deaths rose from 233 to 281. Italy on day 22 they rose from 233 to 366.
Lets hope that's a sign of things to come and we're making progress.
Italy had 97 deaths on day 23 so if we can come in significantly under that.

Got to love good morning Britain, Morgan on a rant about staying in. Goes to the weather woman who's needlessly gone to a random park to do the weather.

Fact no1, the flu vaccine works only on last years strain of flu, it is useless on this years strain. Its given as a placebo only. This is widely accepted in the nhs
Fact 2, my niece works in a major hospital in the south east in a i.c.u. unit, the hospital has reported 6 fatalities so far due to covid-19,
But not a single nurse has reported treating anyone who has died of the virus!
What the fuck is going on???
Something is not adding up here!

Yeah you're right - Fact #1 not adding up for a start!

Twice a year, the World Health Organization (WHO) organizes a consultation with the Directors of the WHO Collaborating Centers, essential regulatory laboratories and representatives of key national laboratories and academies. They review the results of surveillance, laboratory, and clinical studies, and the availability of vaccine viruses and make recommendations on the composition of the influenza vaccine. These meetings take place in February for selection of the upcoming Northern Hemisphere’s seasonal influenza vaccine and in September for the Southern Hemisphere’s vaccine.

The influenza viruses in the seasonal flu vaccine are selected each year based on surveillance data indicating which viruses are circulating and forecasts about which viruses are the most likely to circulate during the coming season.

It’s been like that on the list for a few days. There are that many in Sussex hospitals.

The deaths seem to be outstripping the critical cases 2 to 1 at the moment. I guess the uk has a different way of pushing people through the system.

Hahahaha

Just went to the garage for some bits and checked the milk, there were about five bottles left. Me and a random guy saw at the same time, turned to each other and exclaimed: Milk! And laughed like idiots.

What’s happening to the world?

It's not about being blasé, it's about not sending people into mega fucking panic mode. It's bad enough as it is.

Mega fucking panic would be an upgrade on couldn’t give a fuck TBF.

Young people aren’t immune and too many seem to think they are. Healthy people in their 20s/30s/40s will be hospitalised and die.

The real problem at the moment there appears to be a proportion not taking seriously, which is worse than people being worried about it, and likely to increase panic even further.

I don't think you can say that about here. Personally, I'll only check in this thread a couple of times a day as to function as a human being, I need to avoid crazed meltdown.

I'm not talking about people being worried about it, don't think you get my point. I'm not arguing about it though. Stay safe over there.

The reports of people out and about over the last weekend doesn’t make it seem that way to be honest, it was the same situation here too.

Different masks. Some amazon 50p job isn’t what the NHS use.

Yeah that's what people are missing, Italy rose in pretty much normal pandemic levels and then suddenly exploded. Dr Jenny Harries the DCMO said only 12 percent of icu beds are currently in use by covid-19 patients so I'm hopeful we can avoid that as long as we don't have a repeat of this weekend. London is a worry but they do have some very very large hospitals. America is a worry internationally.

Same here. One hospital doing all the tests in Budapest. Cramped room, no masks or sanitizer, pens not disinfected after use

While tragic the 18 year old had massive chronic underlying health problems. UHC has capacity at the moment.

Can we keep things truthful as bullshit rumours don't help anyone.

"10: days since the UK government said it would "greatly expand" coronavirus tests to 10,000 a day. And it's been 4 days since Boris Johnson upped that to 25,000 a day.

0: days when there have been as many as 10,000 tests in the UK, let alone 25,000."
