I don't get why, after a year when we should understand why we should all work to benefit one another, we seem reluctant to embrace *anything* from this!

I don't really have a problem with masks in public, and I reckon I don't get within two metres of my wife when we're out(!) I don't understand the issues!

I do when being outdoors renders transmission far less likely

I dont get within 2 metres of mine inside the house either lol.

I know, its hardly an issue. No wonder we've had one of the highest death tolls in the world, when not only do we have an inept government but some people don't want to embrace things that may benefit each other.

The coronavirus mutates much quicker than flu, so whist there will be annual top ups of vaccines, we will need to be doing everything we can to reduce transmission.

I like seeing people’s faces for a start. We seem to be forgetting that we have lived with infectious disease for our whole existence as a species-deciding to permanently cover half our faces and avoid contact is not what I want to sign up for.

That and it will make my job harder for even longer

I mean, my mask covers less of my face than my beard

I don’t think asking people to wear a mask if they feel under the weather when they’re in enclosed spaces is that bad.

I could just pay a homeless bloke to carry a life size cardboard cutout of me about so I never have to leave the house.

Encouraging paranoia over everyone being a potential harbinger of disease?

My only concern is that it ends up weakening our built-in resistance to infections. Not being a medic, I couldn't really answer how / if it would do that, and for how long however. I'm sure I could Google, but...

Obviously I’ll just crack on with whatever the rules are, and to be honest wearing a mask doesn’t bother me that much but long term I’d prefer it if I didn’t have to.

I don't think everyone's a potential sex offender because we're encouraged to wear pants in public...

Come on mate. You go on about mental health and then you make snide remarks about lock down lovers.
No one loves it. But we've had 130k deaths in a year. Some people find the thought of being part of that statistic frightening, no need to have a go at them.
Its a fucking scary disease.

Personally I think we're at the point now with how well vaccinations are going that I can't see any reason not to stick to the road map but I totally understand people who want to be a bit more cautious.

I've also had the jab as have my family members who need it most so I can afford to be a bit gung ho. Others don't have that luxury.

No, the answer there is to make people feel like they don’t have to come in even if they aren’t well enough by offering fairer SSP.

We have been dealing with infectious disease for thousands of years. You cannot hide from it forever

Expecting people like me, who get five sick days a year, to take one when I’ve got a bit of a sniffle is frankly ridiculous. And doesn’t account for self employed and others with non financial commitment.

And we’ve been dealing with disease by continually making small improvements in prevention and cure. That’s what this is. You could make the same argument you just have about vaccines. It’s just not realistic.

You should be entitled more sick days. And if you have ‘just a bit of a sniffle’ then chances are what you’ve got won’t kill anyone. So you probably don’t need to cover half your face or run away from anyone within two metres.

Everyone is a potential harbinger of disease. Whitty and Vallance have already said we're likely to have to go into more restrictions again in the winter. This isn't over, even with the vaccine.

If only there had been a bit more paranoia over Christmas...

Oh I see. Fully vaccinate all adults and return to making everyone wear masks and avoid each other every autumn and winter? Yeah they can sod off with that. Booster jab every year instead please.

We will all get a booster every year, we will also likely have to have restrictions at certain times. The virus mutates much quicker than flu, and already studies have shown that the astra zenica vaccine fails to protect against the South African variant, which could rip right through us way before the booster is rolled out.

At the end of the day, the government will make the decisions and we will do as we are asked.

tbf, it does then truly depend on the numbers. At the beginning me and others said it was like flu... and we were wrong. If, however, it gets to a stage where you can go to the shop for your Covid-sip, and you're desperately unlucky if it gets serious then so be it, it's just another disease.

And that *should* happen at some stage, as technology gets on top of it, and it (hopefully!) weakens. Spanish flu is still in circulation, after all...

Good luck encouraging people to get jabs if they still have to keep their restaurant shut.

I totally should. But we don’t live in should land and it’s easier to wear a mask than convince a Tory government to improve working conditions.

We have around 50 million domestic holidays booked a year, so yea... Seems alot of people do like to take breaks short or long at home

Some of us though Like the SUN, which again... Has nowt to do with our political stance, more the fact we live in a generally Damp country

Anyway... Covid
