I was wondering how much "negotiation" actually needs to happen, and how long that might take. Are they drafting a "Heads of Terms" contract and going through it line by line, maybe??

I'd say every little thing said, the lawyers will have to check it over from both sides.

So more likely that they come up with a set of ideas ("the swivel chair to take home at weekends", etc), then all fuck off again while someone being paid £250 per hour takes their time to draft and redraft it into a contract on which they can all agree? So not much actual negotiation, we think?

That's the issue. There's so many agendas being pushed and so little trust between both parties, any little thing that is suggested or refuted will have to be analysed to a T.

They must just all come in, go through 1 line of the contract and unanamously agree, "that will do it for today"

It's probably standard.

Thing is, there's clear PR to try and ramp up the pressure on CCFC / SISU while negotiations are ongoing. It get's everybody all worked up then.

Sorry for the lengthy post.

I personally don't think the PR has or will have much of an effect on the negotiations though - not on the club's end anyway. SISU will do what they want to do regardless of fan unrest and to be honest so will the club if they feel that a deal isn't in CCFC's best interests - E.g. Wasps demanding indemnity. Securing the St. Andrews deal is, in my opinion, a huge bargaining chip to force Wasps hand in agreeing a deal. I personally think the tide has turned slightly in the last few weeks. The club has stopped constantly reiterating that the Ricoh being the club's only feasible option, which suggests to me they've thrown playing Mr Nice Guy out the window and are now going on the offensive to get Wasps to agree a deal.

There's obviously clear PR from the Wasps camp directed at attempting to apply pressure on CCFC / SISU but I do wonder whether it's becoming counter productive for them.

A clear example of such failed PR, again in my view, is the EC Complaint angle. Has this really worked for Wasps as you could argue that a combination of pressure from the CCFC camp and people now clocking onto the fact that the complaint neither directly involves Wasps, nor will effect Wasps in the short term, if at all, has resulted in Wasps more or less failing to use the EC Complaint as a get out of jail free card. You can again see this by how Gilbert has stopped pushing this on Twitter. Correct me if I'm wrong as you monitor these accounts better than me but he hasn't pushed the EC Complaint angle for days has he?

Wasps, in my opinion are running out of arguments to why a deal shouldn't be agreed, which suggests to me why the strange Twitter accounts are ramping up again.

I have quite a negative view on this whole scenario and I'll stand by my view that it's unlikely that a deal will be agreed soon. But even I have to admit something is telling me that could change.

The PR will not change the outcome! what it will do is try and make one of the party's look better than they should (WASPs cannot afford to upset the Coventry Public)

There is clearly a deal to be done but this wont simply be an extension of the current arrangements, this will be a significant increase with a lot of caveats.

Exactly it will just try to manage the fallout. I do think Wasps are slipping up with their attempts at pushing their personal agenda though. They seem to be arrogant enough to assume that fans no nothing about anything and I find it completely bizarre.

I said to him that it was very strange that he was called Chris W and that his second ever tweet after a few months was to take issue with an article about Chris West from the Council.

It's a pretty strange coincidence.

Almost as strange as "CW" and "James Alexander" both remembering they support CCFC again at the end of 2018.

In the thick of the Council's team v SISU, 'retired' early (£can't blame him£) and IIRC not a City fan

I’ve no idea what’s going on but this suspense is killing me. If we really do end up in Brum then after so many years no season ticket for me. Gutted!

Out of principle, or logistics? Curious, not accusatory.
FWIW, I'm going Ricoh or St Andrews (hopefully the former, though I'll take small consolation that the pitch might be flatter at the latter - that rhymed!!)

Not all. Just a vocal minority, I think.

Oh, and the local Council.
Oh, and a local BBC journalist.

I think the Coventry public are pretty indifferent, They only sell a decent amount of tickets a couple games a year and it seems like more of that is Warwickshire than Cov. Local media and officials are all over them but if they went back to London tomorrow very few shed a tear (apart from City fans tears of joy)

Do the council have a say in it at all?
Often a lease will include a clause that the occupantant cannot sublet without the owners permission. It would be good to know whether this is the case or not.

Can someone tell me what
Chris West has been doing? I don't have Twitter.

I know him through a well known family member. Not sure if it was publicly released, but if you aren't aware it would be worth checking the payout he got from the council. It's an absolutely gobsmacking amount.

How anyone can still plug their ears with their fingers regarding the council and wasps is mental. They're corrupt as fuck.

Just to point out, there's nothing to say it is him.

It all just looked a bit suspect the way he was going on and jumped on an article mentioning "Chris W" with the name "Chris W" to discredit it. Then changed his name to CW.

How much did you get G bet it wasn't far off that.
When I left Ford's foundry 10 years ago the average pay off was well over £100k for shop floor workers, managers for more depends on your pay scale.

It certainly wasn’t £450,000 and didn’t impact the taxpayers one iota

It's a shame our local journalists are too busy blowbanging the council. They could do with some serious investigation.

Interesting that when Gilbert was on about Newbon this morning I asked why people were completely ignoring when Newbon said about a rugby club owner backing Hoffman and talk of a Phoenix Club. Radio Silence.

Seems to be being completely ignored.
