A dreadful excuse of a shop with such a limited range. I know we don't have the superstore any longer, but beyond the obvious kit, absolutely nothing of note to purchase. I took my daughter to spend her Christmas money and she brought it back!
Totally agreed, so much opportunity to make money via creative use of the brand / badge and they are not even touching 1% of the possible with such a dire offer lacking both imagination and good marketing, the shop should be looking to capture the hearts and minds of all Cov Kids forever as they did back in the 60s and onwards at HR,.
same, i went on there to look getting stuff and its bad plus the crazy ass prices they charge aswell its madness 40 pounds for scarf,hat and wallet that be $80 dollars for me like aswell.
It's not that bad. I agree it's small and limited but then we are in league 1 with a well known budget limit.
The alternative was a large superstore with nothing in it a mile or so up the road with no stock in it and no people either.
I think it serves it purpose in a good location. Remember we don't have the club shop anymore at the ground.

I always used to buy a coat for the winter and a jacket for the other times. But not now as the quality and styling is very poor.

They do need a bit more, or alternatively lower the postage prices!
Or perhaps since the shop is so small and can't have up every article on offer, I'm surprised they haven't yet introduced a click and collect type of service! I ordered some things before Christmas and postage was between £5-8 which i think is a lot and when postage is that much I'm usually put off buying things. Had they not been Christmas presents is have probably gone without

This is what we get when the club aren't bothered about it. Hence why they've farmed it out to someone else to worry about. Every 10-15th tweet the club reply to always says the same thing; "We don't run the shop, contact Just Sport". Someone contacted me in the summer that had dealt with them previously and they said their club received a very small percentage of the profit from sales. What I find laughable is that some fans actually think there's an agreement directly with Nike.
As for the quality the stuff in there, it's crap. The kit looks awful once you look from less than a few feet away. Sponsor is on wonky on a lot of the shirts (it's on a striped shirt! How can they not stick it on straight?!) and the crest isn't even embroidered on, just ironed or glued.
Btw don't forget it's all about the revenues. They're vital apparently.

We went into the Chesterfield Shop on Saturday, it has 100 more things then ours and yet they cater for a quater of the fan base we do?
And as for all this we need all the money we can get, and then they can't even be bothered to run the club shop.

Wouldn't agree with that, I have a couple of training tops and the quality is decent. Even the avec stuff.
Had a look at one of the Avec Jacket / Tracky Tops and the quality seemed about the same as a £80 - £100 adidas originals one.

The club shop is a bit of a shambles but the problem the cost of running the shop vs profits coming in. The unit in the Ricoh costs about £70k pa to rent, then probably another £65-70k in staffing, plus utilities (£2k?), business rates (£?k) and the cost of having to buy stock upfront (£15-20k?). So you're going to have to cover £150-160k pa (after VAT's deducted) before you start, then there's stock rotation, etc.
So I can see why they have done.
Now clubs that rent their stadium 365 days pa and have access to shop facilities have saved themselves the rent before they've even started. So it makes more sense for them to run their own.

Well if everyone is unhappy with the quality or lack of stock, there can't be much profit to be made anyway

Then people have to go into town to buy something? That means driving into town, parking (and paying), walking to the shop, back to the car etc.
That would be a nightmare if you just wanted to go and pick up tickets for example.
It is much better at the Ricoh / Gallegher type place where you can just park up, go in and do what you need then go.

I used to service a 1960's mainframe. Believe me, Italia, it would have had no trouble handling ticket sales, printing etc.
We need a ticket office and shop at the Ricoh like we used to have.

I don't doubt that, Italia. Technology has moved on in 50 years. It doesn't alter the fact that the 4130's I serviced could eat that task easily (although they would need a decent sized room to house them!

I see the small shop in town in the lower precinct is still empty and even has the signs still up. For me that was perfect for getting tickets and stocked quite a lot for the size.
The club haven't done well for years with the club shop and their ticketing, which is mainly down to the move to Sixfields. If we do get promoted this season, the club realistically need to have a second shop open in town as the ticket sales will be much bigger and the potential merchandise sales will also be higher.

The other thing the club, or even JustSport, is to offer click and collect which is pretty mainstream with in retail these days.
People could buy online and choose to collect at the shop in Tesco, or some other outlet in town. Simple.

I think they have messed about too much. As you say, they sold tickets in Hannigans which used to be a small shop outside of the most busy areas of town. Just like when they sold tickets at the transport museum and the cathedral.
They always look for the cheapest options and they never seem to work.

Easy enough to implement, they would probably need a minimum value order if it isn't stocked.
