So, Newcastle and Stoke interested...

Bearing in mind we are not in a position to turn down silly offers, how much would you accept, IF (hypothetically obviously, as this would never happen) SISU promised half of the funds to AT ??

He has great potential. Why would I want to sell him cheaply? I would prefer to keep him. If Southampton can get 10m for a young player then why should I not want 6m for him? Whoever owns us could show how serious they are with taking us forward. We could sell any good young player for a large amount, or keep them all for the future. Then we could have some very good players for hardly any outlay. These players could then take us places (not the 1st Div) If we sold one of them a large amount this could pay for the rest of the team to be put together.

AS far as I'm concerned, we do accept silly offers for our players, but in a different sense to what you mean, our players have left us, seriously undervalued for a fraction of their projected value, no regard has ever been given to the status of the playing side of our club, that's why sisu should get out now, before any more violation of our team continues.

I expressed a concern in a recent post, that I was rather concerned about the forthcoming January window, we have some very promising youngsters, vital to the cause of making CCFC a force to be reckoned with, but i'm pretty certain, that "SiSu Capital" would have no hesitation in selling them to the highest or even the Quickest bidder, with not even a telephone call to the manager, to inform him of what was going on, this usually ends up with the manager, approaching The owners, or rather who's representing the owners on that particular day, with "the begging bowl" to finance replacements for our outgoing assets. and we all know how he Fares there.
Yes we're skint, allegedly,But we're being run by a bunch of "Couldn't give a toss, money manipulators and by a chairman, who hardly knows where the ground is.
So take a good look at our up and coming stars, whilst you can, and spare a thought for Beleagured Manager Andy Thorn, who is trying to build a team for us to be proud of, without any support from our alleged Saviours

Yes! youve guessed it......I don't like em

I agree pal, but we are just so inept at doing it, I have no confidence it will ever happen.

I cant see SISU accepting any more than 1 million for him

we've always been shite with the add ons. Clubs must love negotiating them with us.

Gary McSheffrey £xxx after an England call? I bet that was one in the Brum deal!

Yes, I can see it happening now. They might see it best to add a massive add on in the contract

Christie for £500,000 and an extra 15m if he plays for Spain before he is 22

We would be lucky to get a million imo, I think he has potential and has been doing a great job but I think he is being slightly overrated by some.

I must reply to your comments, because in Ghristie I see all the makings of a Fine athletic player, for his age he is Hugely strong, and still growing, he is out muscleing Seasoned forewards, with ease, he has composure on the ball, pace and delivers great crosses, has won motm awards, and has been highlighted as a great prospect by TV Pundits, Why do you feel he is overated, I have a clear view from where I sit, and believe this lad will achieve significant levels of Football.

Yea I agree he is a very good prospect but people saying 4-6 million for a player who has played 10 senior games in his career is ridiculous imo, his best abilities at the moment are his pace and crossing which has been fantastic at times. His first touch sometimes lets him down and his defending at times has been suspect, I wouldn't really call him "composed" as he tends to make a few mistakes and costing us goals, off the top of my head both goals against Palace came from Christie being skinned down our right hand side, diving in and giving a penalty away against Reading where he was bailed out by Murphy and against Leeds the other night.
I am not criticising as it would be foolish to expect an 18 year old to not make mistakes and I am sure he will improve with experience.
It is far too early for him to even be considering a prem move anyway imo.
He has bags of potential but people putting a 4-6 million price tag on his head are unrealistic imo. I would value him today at anything between £800,000-1,200,000 maybe stretching to 1.5 million.

Jonathan Greening (£600k, Nottingham Forest), as an aside, did you hear the cheers that greeted his substitution by the Forest fans.... dont seem very popular there, perhaps he is not big enough for a team of their supposed stature.

I'm sure that players such as Christie will be sold sooner rather than later and well before they are the finished article as SISU have decided that this is the best route for them to recoup the money which they have "invested". Let me explain: They are not prepared to invest heavily in the first team as that will always be a gamble and will not in inself guarantee promotion. That is why we are the only club not to have got in loanees. BUT the products from the youth team (provided that they a good enough) will always attract attention and it is for that reason that the coaching staff there has been increased. If you think about it then it makes good sense. No initial outlay, a few years of good coaching and a big profit as apposed to a huge initial outlay, high wages and fingers crossed for a promotion.

so, to confirm, lets get 11 great kids, play them all season, pay them pennies, keep them for years.. get promotion

i cant see what can possibly go wrong

The thing is he is a right back. I would love him to stay, but if losing him means that we can hold onto everyone else then I think he's replaceable. Clarke, Keogh and Cranie can all do a good job at right back. Imo he will go onto greater things than CCFC so its more a question of when not if and tbf he is currently raw, does make mistakes, still and has much to learn defensively so if losing him can balance the books for a season then whoever is in charge we must be realistic and accept that it could and will happen at some point long before he reaches his peak. All we can ask is that at whatever time he goes, we achieve fair market value for him, wish him luck and move on as we always do. The longe term future of the club is much greater than any player, manager, owner or fan.

Has this just come from the rumour story in one of the papers the other day or has another story come out?

The spivs who own us know the price of everything and the value of nothing. They will sell any of the kids as soon as they get an offer over £500K.
