Just come back from the chippy where there was a bloke and his lad in a Chelsea shirt. The lad just kept repeating Bournemouth how did we lose to Bournemouth. I almost felt sorry for him.
My Chelsea supporting mate just called and said he can't understand why they are so crap this season. He also said that they've just put in a planning application for the new stadium at Stamford Bridge. Reckons they might be in the Championship by the time that's ready.
I watched the Stoke game, they played some quality football.

Exactly this, Premiership-wise, anyway. It's a refreshing change to see the table broken up of it's dominant teams - Leicester won't be there long, but again, I like it too when there's something different going on in the Premiership.
I can't say I feel pity for Chelsea, despite the fact I admire Mourinho, I just think he's lost the dressing room and/or not been able to bring in the players he needed. Surprised he hasn't lured Ibrahimovic to the club, as yet, despite Ibra and PSG destroying Ligue 1.
Even though I hate to say it I can't understand all this Leicester won't keep it up comments on the telly,radio and on here etc, and they'll drop down soon. They are playing great football especially on the road,just like us there's no reason why they won't keep it up.Chelsea struggling,Man City aren't invincible,Man United can't score goals,Arsenal can wobble at times,so it's wide open.I can see Liverpool challenging too.
To be fair, I don't follow any media coverage of The Premiership, aside from what's on here or BBC Sport - I know Leicester are doing extremely well, it's just my opinion they won't sustain it. Top 5 finish perhaps, it seems they deserve it; like I said I like seeing the Premiership table without the regulars dominating, it's refreshing. When we're back up there, I can just see us sitting nicely in the top half...
I too aren't a big admirer of the Premier League much prefer the lower divisions.But this season it looks like it could be a refreshing change as Leicester and even Stoke City could break the big clubs domination ? Well, here's hoping, even if the likes of Stoke, Leicester, Palace or even Watford got a top 5 finish it'd be a nice change. Then I might take an interest in the Premiership again, 'cos the last 8 years or so it's bored my tits off.
Yeah there's always that eventuality, which in itself is a shame. Hopefully the 'lesser' teams performing well can capitalise on their form and maintain some level of momentum that will enable them to nab one or two places in Europe.
The teams at the top of England may not be able to compete with the top teams in Europe like Bayern Munich, Barcelona etc. but the rest of the league is so strong with the rest of Europe. Teams like Southampton, Leicester, West Ham, Stoke wouldn't look outclassed in Europe I reckon, obviously they couldn't compete with the elite teams but they could compete with the second and third tier teams like Zagreb, Olympiakos, Galatasary, Basel, PSV, CSKA, Dynamo Kyiv
A team at the bottom of the premier league can go and pick the best players from the champions of the lesser nations like Ukraine, Croatia etc. with ease because of the spending power the league has got.
I think its why we are getting so many shock results this year as the gap is closing, look at the Stoke team. Bojan, Affelay, Arnautovic, Shaquiri, Joselu, Van Ginkel, Muniesa have all played for elite clubs in Europe.

I notice also he never shook the Cherries managers hand at the end of the match. That shows a lack of class.

If he survives this season I will put a few quid on them to win the league next season as they will have no champions league and he will spend like a mad man in the summer.
The London Evening Standard have an article about Chelsea today. It is basically saying that after the Leicester result Mourinho needs to concentrate on staying in the league rather than worry about the top four.
I disagree. The top teams have more money and so can still cream off all the better players. The lesser clubs have always beaten the top clubs occasionally. I remember us beating the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool even though we almost always finished near the bottom.
I would say the world's supply of very good players is expanding with players from places like Africa and South America, which makes better players available to the lower level clubs. But the gap still very much exists and the top four or six clubs will probably dominate the Premier League for many years to come. Leicester is an aberration.

I'm hoping in some way this might show some players that moving to the big 4 teams isn't always the best thing for your career. Normally at this stage one of the big teams will eye up the top performing player from a team like Leicester and spend big on them, only for that player to mostly sit on the bench whist the prime of his career stagnates. Money talks, true, but perhaps this might just help the league with an equal share of the better players.
