I can't rationalise him being the sole reason for us not lasting the pace. Thats the point I'm making. I couldn't care less whether he is here next season. Not emotionally bought into him at all like MR but there is clearly more factors than just him to how this season has gone

He certainly could have had more help in January.
But we hit a slump in away form last season and it wasn't addressed, and now it's happening again. It didn't really make a difference last year, but it is this time around.

Well you have to credit him with the large portion of the blame for failing to be proactive , refusing to try even sit in and see games out or tighten up after taking the lead away , and not rotating certain players when he had the chance

Hes just gone full steam ahead and hoped it would work

My main criticism of him is that he had a plan A which worked like a dream in the Autumn. Then teams worked us out, stopped being intimidated and I haven't seen a plan B

Like I say, revisit some of those match threads.

And as I said on another thread today, I certainly won't be calling for Lampard to go, far from it.
But that doesn't mean he hasn't overseen momentous fuck up if we don't go up.

Youre better than me , id struggle to look past a fuck up so big

Some has been kamikaze.

Boro tonight made defensive changes. Meanwhile we take the lead and go mental.

There was a point this season where he was making some good changes but he seems to have totally lost the plot over the last 2 months

Is it fuck!
The pressure is very much on after blowing the lead we had.
And theyd better respond accordingly, the shower of cunts!!
Absolutely the pressure is on. Totally agree!
We've blown a ridiculous lead and are showing bottom.third metrics over a period of 15 (!) games!!
We haven't shown that we can step it up....
We're tried but we haven't been able to.....

We are now 2nd and have others breathing down our necks.....

The pressure is on big time.... And we've shown we can't get ourselves back up for a fight.

My reasoning is we should at least end up in the play offs this season.
That would be 2 seasons on the trot. Realistically, if we don't get autos this year then we're looking at challenging for the play offs going forward
I'd be reluctant to bin a manager who's achieved that twice.

Just my take, I know you and plenty other won't agree and I understand why.

Oh I absolutely do but I also think the seeds were sown with a very poor summer window. The first few months absolutely blew me away considering my pre season expectations. And believe me if there was someone that DK thought could turn this around and he replaced him given the once in 25 years opportunity I would be all for it. Quite frankly whatever it takes

I think it depends on the play offs too. If we go into them without even putting up a whimper then it's shocking.

Look I'm largely apathetic about Lampard, not sure he is the answer. Point is though if MR was still here we'd hear far more "deserves credit for getting us in this position" "squad was never strong enough to maintain this over 46 games" "other stronger teams with more resources were always going to catch up". All reasonable points but too many people have had an agenda against FL from the start and won't entertain them
Honestly I think we get to 80 points and miss out on the auto but if you had told us we would get 80 points before the season kicked off I would have been pretty pleased.

even If top 2 goes we’ve still got a great chance, as frustrating as it is we’ve got 2 goes at going up, and this form can still turn around as quick as it started, just stick with them

What's the great chance if we don't finish top 2? We would need to win over 2 legs and then at Wembley.

Completely agree. Franks early season success has brought expectation and entitlement to the fan base.

If he gets us into the playoffs perpetually then he’s doing his job well.

Of course it’s the hope that kills you but we all knew deep down the early season was simply not sustainable.

No but for us to finish in the playoffs the form will have been not good enough for over half a season ?

He will at that point be doing a bad job

Yeh its a weird one. We could end up on paper with our best championship season and if we collected those points consistently over the season it would meet the target of continuous improvement. But because of how things have gone and the opportunity we had it would be gutting.

I still say though. Do not write off play off success. Absolute lottery

Yeah that also happened at the end of last season. Then an amazing start to this season. It’s a cycle - we need to support him and he may find the answer.

Yep we could get in the play offs with a less than 1 point a game average over the second half of the season. Relegation form. Assuming we make it though I will still have hope

It won’t last, convinced we’ll turn it around, add Asante, Onyeka and EMC to that team on Saturday and we win that, imagine what a win will do next week, 8 point gap to 3rd
Yeah, to be fair Ipswich and Hull are in the cup so if we beat Boro, we’re back top and widen the gap.
