They're so dense that when it all falls apart they'll blame the EFL/council/government and when baldy and touchdown sail off with their huge interest loans called in and the club is in the shit again they'll be crying for them to come back.

Or even FIFA/ UEFA compliant. Not much use for an average Championship side

Does anybody know how that Zipotnik is playing? Outside of the goals he’s scored does he seem a good player?

Can they just stop with this nonsense now.

To even have a hope of building and fulling a stadium of that size they’d have to be not only in the prem but competing with the top sides. It’s just not going to happen especially when they are struggling in the championship after spending a fortune on players.

It’s just deluded Americans thinking if they build it, they will come. It doomed Darlington and it’ll ruin them if they aren’t careful

No no no. Let them continue

Spending untold millions in the Championship and failing is nothing new. Stoke have been doing it for years. Other clubs are in serious financial difficulties from trying to buy their way out. Top priority is getting a good manager. Then you need to buy a team and not just the overvalued players you can manage to bring in. 5m isn't much for a Championship quality player these days. You need 11 of them just for the 1st team. How about the reserves?

You can spend money in the Championship and still do it well. We're not exactly spendthrifts.

The key is buying players you're confident will have a re-sale value with a couple of experienced heads (Grimes) sprinkled in when you don't feel like you're far away.

Spunking 10 mil on a 30 year old striker that has only succeeded at the dog and duck and been kicked out of the french league is a recepie for failure.

We've only spent what we've had coming in from players we've sold.

Of course you can do it well. All you have to do is look at our own club. But it's much easier to do it badly. It's OK buying expensive players but you still need to fill the gaps in your team/squad.

We also had the money from the playoffs and the cup run.

As the losing finalists we reportedly got Luton's share - by tradition. Which I'm sure I read was about £7m in total for the 22/23 season.

Boro are over performing their current position and that generally levels out as the season carries on.

It’s still early doors but I still think Ipswich, Southampton, Sheff U and Leicester all make the playoffs. The former 2 will make it, Leicester probably will but depend on Jan as well as the impending points deduction. Sheff U, I can’t work out, perhaps they and Wilder are truly a spent force.

I very much doubt they'll spend anything in January. They might bring in a couple more loans.

But if anything I can potentially see more outgoings than incomings again.

From an owners perspective, what's the point of spending if you're gonna get points docks and nullify the season ?

On the other side of the coin, I can see DK giving Frank and little war chest to get us over that line if we are still there

It's not even that. The owner's appetite to spend on transfers has seemingly gone completely... that's the point. They spent a measly £3m on Coulibaly last January despite being in a relegation battle, the most they would've spent this summer just gone is perhaps on loan fees, so what does that indicate for this January coming?

He doesn't even seem to be financing the club anymore. The entire operation is being propped up with high-interest loans from Macquarie Bank secured against future parachute payments as well as them making player sales.

With Leicester's parent company King Power in complete disarray, focus has clearly been pulled away from the club.

Leicester fans keep on crowing about PSR when really that only scratches the surface of their issues.

They also have a fair few players out of contract next summer and it's widely thought that the owner is going to look to push them out the door in January in a last ditched attempt to get something for them and avoid them going for nothing.

I think they will be loans, otherwise we would have to buy players who we think will be good enough for the prem which will cost a premium. If we don't go up we could shaft ourselves

Boro got a bit lucky last night, dint come out second half and As soon as Wednesday started to “attack” did not counter it very well. Not sure it was gas off the foot being 1 up.

the saving grace for them is Wednesday could still be playing right now and not score.

There's almost something Wasps-like about Birmingham. Considerable delusions of grandeur.

I hope it all fails to be honest. Wrexham and their Disney story as well.

Too many clown teams in this league at the moment.

I can't be arsed to look too much into it but they seem to quite like him. Most say he's a different player this season, some put that down to him, some put that down to playing a slightly different style that suits him better. Standard football fan stuff, strikers will always be popular when they are scoring and largely unpopular when they are not.

Thought Sheff W actually played fairly well, at least they fought hard but just lacked quality in front of goal.

Didn’t watch any of Watford but the stats suggest it was a close one.

Be thankful for uncle Doug. £15m that doesn’t count to PSR and a stadium in the summer.

I've got a tubby West Brom fan to wind up later. I don't actually mind them in comparison to other Midland clubs, they are just kind of a nothing club to me really, but their fans still have that slight sense of superiority i find. This one mate never says anything positive about us, when we won at Pompey, all he could message was "hanging on at the end." Needless to say, i'm going to go in today.

Watched the Boro game SW put up a good fight - that Browne is a very good player and was everywhere in front of their back four - Boros goal was a good fast combination of decent passes - they were solid but not exceptional - Hackney reminds me of Eccles

Doug is a good thoughtful owner who thinks about what he's doing and 95% of the time gets it right, he also has a great head of hair. Wagner is an arrogant yank who likes the camera, glazes up thick Brummies with fantasy stories and has a head like a plucked turkey.

Will they even then? Based on the stats they looked like they were over performing in the first block of games.

Recent form possibly suggests those numbers are starting to come to fruition, albeit it's a small sample pool.

There's also the looming points deduction to consider.

I think it will end up built but for me it has all the hallmarks of a West Ham type move all over it

Once the novelty wears off their 'proper' fans will miss the spit and sawdust of St Andrew's and end up hating it

Hmm I've always said I very much debate whether they actually intend on building a 60k capacity stadium.

I think a lot of the rhetoric that comes out of Wagner is just pure shock and awe US marketing tactics.

There's nothing really tangible behind his claims but the more he shouts that BCFC are the best thing since sliced bread and are set to become this sleeping giant in English football, in his mind the more likely it is fans/investors/sponsors will actually believe him and basically want a slice of the pie.

It's no different really to what MacAnthony does with his players. If you listen to his podcast he claims his squad every year is the best vein of untapped talent in the EFL when in reality they're crap.

The sleeping giant thing is embarrasing... They have won a whole two League Cups in their history and their historic average attendance is marginally bigger than ours, which considering our years in the doldrums and playing matches outside of our own City and their much bigger catchment area/population that really is not impressive

A City the size of Birmingham could easily carry two big football clubs but the claim that BCFC are this once mighty fallen giant is simply not true, they are and always have been a decent sized Championship club who wouldn't look out of place if they got into the top flight

I've reiterated this point a few times now but half of their goals so far this season have come from outside the box. Again, against Hull the other night their two shots on target were from outside the box - one of which was a goal.

Opposition managers and coaches will undoubtedly have cottoned on to this by now and will instruct their players to avoid giving them that kind of space moving forward.

It's an unsustainable tactic to rely on across a full season.
