Im just saying im less concerned with what he “is” and more with what he does, which is score goals when played in that position.

I get it. Just feels like the hot hand fallacy to me. He had a burst sorta playing that role and got a bunch of goals. If he's got a history of playing there at other clubs and being effective consistently, cool, so be it. If not, I wouldn't plan for it rolling on and hope an ex player with a terrible injury record can backfill.

Where else do you see him getting game time tho?

if Simms or Wright aren't doing the job or one of them gets injured. Maybe he'll play instead of Rudoni for the same reasons. Just think that if Wilson wasn't an ex player the idea of signing him would get dismissed out of hand as a massive, expensive risk.

If he wasn't an ex-player (and a Coventry kid) then there would be no talk, or possibility of signing him, at all.

Don’t you fucking start. Had enough of that from the ten year old.

Im not too fussed about Wilson, but I can see the argument for another ST

There's only one statement that comes from this conversation, the owner is not backing the manager in his judgement,we may get someone now but it won't be Wilson in my eyes, all loans btw, how long is Doug into things for?

Yup.

I had the same thing when my kid was little and I didn't know whether to sell her to Romanians or not.

Heart said yes, as it would have resulted in my affording so many more holidays , but my head said no, because of the chance of being caught. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Someone's got to keep the supply going to Erika or Malania previously?

and I don't when Simms has proven he can step up and score goals when Wright isn't on it and we've got Asante about to come back. Meh, we'll know in a few weeks!
Simms has stepped up and credit to him. Lampard needs to put some more trust in him. However, 4 strikers isn’t unusual. You need different profile of player for different scenarios and also as account for injuries. 1 big injury to BTA this season, Wright last season and we look a bit short, even when we got down to Bassette, he was not at the required level when we played 5-3-2.

I’d be open to signing a striker and given Lampard wanted Bamford, he’s clearly thinking about adding to the ‘deck’.

Wouldn’t even be too fussy about the goals he could score, we have goals all over the pitch. We need the ball to stick up front in transitions, it’s not doing that at the moment. That alone is worth its weight in gold.

I’m ok with a couple of loans at the moment especially in the positions we have got them. I would love a perm full time signing though in the midfield if we could

So a Cov kid is looking for a club for 4 months. We're looking for good players for the next 4 months. This player is nearly at the end of his career having lost his pace. Going down a division would make up for this.

4 months to make yourself a hero in your home city. Get the goals needed to get yourself one final contract. Would work well for both sides.
