So a Cov kid is looking for a club for 4 months. We're looking for good players for the next 4 months. This player is nearly at the end of his career having lost his pace. Going down a division would make up for this.

4 months to make yourself a hero in your home city. Get the goals needed to get yourself one final contract. Would work well for both sides.
I think you've missed the point.

I'm not offering an opinion on how good or bad a signing it would be, just saying that this wouldn't be possible, or even mooted, if we weren't his hometown club. A similar status player with no connection would not be being discussed.

That's all. I'd be delighted if he resigned.

I'm hoping we go for a traditional late Thursday announcement? It's the wife's birthday today so I might not be on here as much, what with all the fuss being made of my scouse queen.

The romantic in me really wants this to happen.

Football wise, even if he’s half the player, he isn’t exactly a bad option off the bench. Plus the buzz it would create amongst fans and players - alongside his PL experience in the dressing room.

As long as we aren’t breaking the bank for him, it’s a great signing.

If you’re Callum Wilson and you have a chance to help your childhood team into the prem, let’s be honest you’re doing it aren’t you!

He even said before joining West Ham it’s no longer about money for him - so if the interest is legit (which I am genuinely not sure of sadly) - you’d think it was a shoe in on a reasonable pay as you play deal to end of season.

A bonus stacked pay as you play, you’d have him back straight away.

Some guy on twitter apparently works with his mate and says
"he's definitely not coming to coventry so we can put that one to bed"

Taken with pinch of salt, as it really feels like it could be that the stars aligned just right.

There's very little chance of it actually happening.

If Wilson is released from his contract, then he becomes a free agent and can be possibly signed after the end of the window. Is this correct?

It'd be nice, if its on the cards and he's not training with West Ham (wasnt in their match day squad last night at all) could we get him training with us at Ryton and let FL have a look. Similar situation to Bamford. Try before you buy type thing. Thats fantasy land though and even less likely to happen than us actually signing him.

Just a thought, what is Bournemouths striker situation like? Is he more likely to go back there than come here? Theyre not smashing it currently and im sure their fans would welcome him back and Im pretty sure his missus and kids are still living in the sandbanks area.
